ARA------------------------A father-in-law was assaulted by his son-in-law and the latter's brother outside the Civil Court in the Nawada police station area of the city, immediately after he had finished giving his testimony. He sustained injuries during the attack. His daughter and family members subsequently took him to Sadar Hospital for treatment. According to reports, the injured elderly man is a resident of Sevanan village under the Karouna police station area of Jehanabad district... Angad Singh is the 62-year-old son of Tej Narayan Singh.

It is reported that Angad Singh had married off his daughter, Kanchan Singh, on November 22, 2024, to Sumit Singh—son of the late Sant Singh and a resident of Paiga village under the Barhara police station area. Shortly after the wedding, she began facing harassment from her husband and in-laws.

Consequently, Angad Singh went to her in-laws' home and brought his daughter, Kanchan Singh, back to his own house. Subsequently, on December 20, 2025, Kanchan Singh lodged an FIR at the Women's Police Station in Jehanabad against her husband and other in-laws for harassment. Following this, her husband, Sumit Singh, filed a divorce petition in the Family Court at the Ara Civil Court.

On Thursday, Angad Singh arrived with his daughter, Kanchan Singh, to testify in this case. As they were leaving the court premises, his son-in-law, Sumit Singh, and the latter's brother first slapped Kanchan Singh. When bystanders objected to this, Sumit Singh and his brother assaulted Angad Singh.

In this regard, Angad Singh has submitted a written complaint to the Nawada Police Station, seeking the registration of an FIR against his son-in-law, Sumit Singh, and his brother for the assault.
