BHABHUA-------------------------Panic gripped riverside areas after a massive crocodile was spotted on Friday in the Karmanasha River, which flows along the UP-Bihar border. The crocodile was seen in the river near Khajura village within the Durgawati block.

Fear spread among local villagers as soon as news of the sighting broke. Residents informed the local administration; subsequently, an administrative team arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

The administration has urged people living along the riverbanks and in nearby areas to remain vigilant. Residents have been advised to avoid going near the river and to report any sightings or unusual activity immediately.

Meanwhile, the administration has initiated steps to safely capture or remove the crocodile from the river. The Forest Department and relevant officials have also been informed about the matter.

BUXAR-------------------------Farmers and the general public across various parts of the district, including the Itadhi block, are troubled by the growing menace of *nilgais* (blue bulls). In villages such as Murarpur, Rakasiya, and Chilibili within the Chilhar Panchayat of Itadhi block, *nilgais* are continuously damaging crops.

Villagers state that thousands of hectares of ready-to-harvest crops are being ruined, causing farmers to suffer massive financial losses. They also reported that herds of *nilgais* frequently wander onto roads, posing an accident risk to pedestrians and motorists. A similar incident occurred on Wednesday on the Chausa-Kochas road, where a motorcyclist died after a herd of *nilgais* suddenly appeared. Administration officials arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, an atmosphere of fear and anxiety prevails among the local population.

Retired teacher and social activist Gopal Ji Pandey stated that the *nilgai* problem is not limited to Itadhi alone; farmers across the entire Dumraon subdivision and areas within the Buxar subdivisionincluding the Rajpur and Itadhi blocksare affected. He has demanded that the district administration take immediate, effective measures to provide relief to the farmers.

According to the Agriculture Officer, it is indeed true that *nilgais* cause damage to many hectares of crops.

Farmers have been informed that if they obtain a written request from the Panchayat *Mukhiya* (village head), a shooter will be called in to drive the *nilgais* away using their specific methods. Additionally, some farmers are provided with chemicals and told that using them will scare the animals off, while others are advised to fence their landa measure that is not feasible for everyone.

The event was led by Jitendra Thakur, District President of the District Divyang Sangh. He stated that incidents like the NEET paper leak have raised serious questions regarding the credibility of the nation's education system. He alleged that the Union Education Minister bears moral responsibility for this entire episode and should, therefore, immediately resign from his post.

ARA-------------------------An awareness program regarding the Agnipath scheme and opportunities for commissioned entry into the armed forces was organized on Thursday at Sambhavna Residential High School, located in Shubh Narayan Nagar, Majhauwa, Ara. The event was conducted by the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Records under the outreach program "Mission Nirantar Milap 1.0: Phase IV (Central Eastern Zone)."

During the event, students were informed about the Agnipath scheme and various avenues for commissioned entry into the armed forces. The program was organized with the support of Colonel S.K. SASARAM---------------------------Delivering a significant verdict after nearly six years regarding the rejection of a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has imposed a fine of 30,000 on Krishna Kumarthe then Branch Manager of Corporation Bank (now Union Bank)and the bank's Zonal General Manager. In its order, the Commission directed the opposing bank officials to pay the fine amount to the complainant within 60 days; failing this, simple interest at the rate of 9% per annum would also be payable on the amount until the actual date of payment. It is worth noting that Shiv Shankar Tiwari, a resident of Soni village under the Kargahar police station area of Rohtas district, had submitted an application to the Corporation Bank (now Union Bank) branch located at the Kachhari (court complex) in Sasaram, seeking a loan through the Kisan Credit Card scheme for agricultural purposes. Acting on the bank manager's instructions, the farmer submitted all necessary loan documents and deposited a total of 7,560 in various fees; however, the loan was not granted.

Despite the completion of land verification, document submission, and fee payment, the then-bank manager, Krishna Kumar, demanded an additional 40,000 from the farmer in exchange for sanctioning the loan. When the farmer refused to pay this amount, the bank manager adopted a vindictive attitude and stalled the matter for nearly two years, causing the farmer physical, mental, and financial distress.

Frustrated by the bank manager's arbitrary conduct, the farmer approached the District Consumer Commission for justice in 2019. Following lengthy hearings and an examination of the evidence presented by the complainant, the District Consumer Forum has now delivered a significant verdict in the farmer's favor, citing a deficiency in banking services. The Commission has ordered the payment of a lump sum of 30,000 to the complainant to compensate for the physical, mental, and financial losses suffered, as well as to cover litigation costs.

Nursing student tragically lost his life, and two of his companions were critically injured, in a severe road accident on National Highway-19 within the Dhaudadh police station area. The accident occurred late at night, around 2:00 AM, while the three students were returning from a party at a friend's house. The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Kumar, the 19-year-old son of Gauri Shankar Prasad, a resident of Bhadrashila village under the Shivsagar police station area. He was a B.Sc. Nursing student at Shershah Nursing College.

The deceased's sister, Akanksha, stated that Abhishek had left home saying he was going to a friend's party. In the evening, he called to inform them that he would not be able to return home that night. However, late at night, the family received a call from the Dhaudhah police station informing them of a road accident.

The condition of the two students injured in the accident is reported to be critical. After receiving first aid, they have been referred to Varanasi for advanced treatment. Meanwhile, Abhishek Kumar's body has been sent to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Dr. Siddharth Raj, the physician who conducted the autopsy, confirmed the completion of the procedure. The family of the deceased is devastated following the incident. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.

While ensuring the safe passage of trains, they apprehended a man named Sonu Kumar Soni (approx. 46 years old, son of Dinanath Prasad, resident of Hamid Nagar, Ward No. 2, Uphara Police Station, Aurangabad district, Bihar) who was fleeing suspiciously near the eastern end of platforms 4 and 5 (at railway kilometer marker 554/38) after Train No. 18612 Down had departed from platform 4. A search of the individual revealed a stolen crescent-shaped ornament made of a yellow metal resembling gold, with an estimated value of 20,000. Upon questioning, he confessed to stealing the ornament by cutting it from the neck of a female passenger traveling on Train No. 18612 Down (Banaras-Ranchi Express). After being informed of the offense and the completion of necessary on-site formalities, the accused was arrested. An effigy burning also took place at the Post Office intersection in Sasaram, led by Ashok Baitha, the Bihar State Secretary of the All India Khet-Mazdoor Kisan Sabha. During the event, demands were raised to stop police repression against students on hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar; halt the commercialization of education; stop handing over agriculture to corporations; reject corporate policies; waive all farmers' loans; scrap the Electricity Bill 2020; withdraw all cases filed against farmers; enact a law guaranteeing profitable prices for agricultural produce; and implement a law guaranteeing MSP (Minimum Support Price). Ashok Baitha stated that ruling-class parties across the country are consistently enacting laws detrimental to farmers and laborers. He noted that the process of selling off the country began with the passing of bills for the New Economic Policy and the World Trade Agreement in 1992; furthermore, under the guise of new agricultural, educational, and economic policies, democratic rights are being gradually eroded, and control is being handed over to domestic and foreign capitalists. However, emergency services at the hospital continued to operate as usual, and the treatment of critically ill patients went on uninterrupted.

Unaware of the OPD closure, a large number of patients arrived at the hospital but had to return without treatment as registration slips were not being issued. This led to an atmosphere of disappointment and dissatisfaction among the patients and their attendants within the hospital premises.

Subhash Sharma, a resident of Mewada village, stated that he needed to get a rabies vaccination following a dog bite. He arrived at the hospital on time but did not receive the injection because the OPD registration slip could not be issued. Hospital staff stated that OPD services are suspended today due to the doctors' strike.

Meanwhile, Ravita Devi from Mokaram village mentioned that she had come to consult a gynecologist, but because the OPD was closed, she could not get a registration slip and had to return without receiving treatment.

Dr. Puja Kumari, who is on duty in the emergency department, explained that following a call by the Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA), doctors have boycotted only OPD services; emergency services remain operational to ensure that critically ill patients do not face any inconvenience.

She noted that incidents of assault against doctors have been steadily rising across various parts of the state recently. An assault on the Civil Surgeon of Arwal a few days ago has instilled a sense of insecurity among the medical community. She stated that while doctors consistently serve patients, no concrete steps are being taken to ensure their safety. The one-day OPD boycott has been organized to press for this demand.

Deva Paswan had long evaded police custody and was wanted in connection with several serious cases. Munna Pasi was a wanted accused in Mohania Police Station Case No. 983/25 and had been sought by the police for a long time. BHABHUA-------------------------In a major operation on Thursday morning, the Mohania police recovered 32 cattle from a container at the integrated check-post. Three cattle smugglers were arrested, and the container was seized. The operation was carried out based on a tip-off.

The container was en route from Barun in Aurangabad district to Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh. When an attempt was made to stop the vehicle at the checkpost, the smugglers on boardincluding the driverabandoned the container and tried to flee, but the police chased them down and apprehended them.

During the search, two additional individuals were arrested from a secret compartment built into the upper section of the container. Thirty-two cattle were being transported inside the container, crammed together in inhumane conditions.

The arrested accused have been identified as Abu Rehan Ansari (resident of Katamkulli, Ranchi, Jharkhand), Monu Yadav (resident of Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh), and Kamil Sajar (resident of Muradabad, Rohtas district).

All the recovered cattle have been handed over to the fair organizer under a formal undertaking, following the completion of necessary legal procedures.

PATNA-------------------------The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case, has given a clean chit to Sanjeev Kumar, alias Sanjeev Mukhiya. The agency stated that despite a thorough investigation and interrogation, no concrete evidence was found against him; consequently, no charge sheet was filed against him. The CBI has filed a charge sheet against a total of 45 accused persons in this case before the competent court in Patna. This stance by the CBI comes at a time when the alleged paper leak controversy surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 examination is making headlines nationwide. Against this backdrop, Sanjeev Mukhiya's name has once again surfaced in connection with the 2024 case.

According to the CBI, the entire conspiracy and the individuals involved were identified during the investigation. Sanjeev Mukhiya was absconding at the time of the probe. Later, the Bihar Police arrested him in connection with other paper leak cases. Since he was also named in the FIR for the NEET-UG 2024 case, the CBI took him on remand for questioning.

Even after the investigation concluded, no evidence was found against him. On this basis, he was not included in the charge sheet. The agency also clarified that the position regarding his role had been established back in 2024; therefore, it is incorrect to claim that his name was deliberately removed from the charge sheet at a later stage.

However, despite receiving relief in this specific case, Sanjeev Mukhiya's legal troubles are far from over. He remains an accused in five other paper leak cases registered in Bihar. These cases involve the leaking of question papers for various competitive examinations, including those for police and teacher recruitment. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police has already filed a charge sheet against him in these matters; he is currently in judicial custody.

The first case regarding the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak was registered on May 5, 2024, at the Shastri Nagar police station in Patna.

Subsequently, the Economic Offences Unit of the Bihar Police initiated an investigation. During raids in Patna, remnants of burnt question papers, answer sheets, and other crucial evidence were recovered from a boys' hostel and a play school. Preliminary investigations revealed that on May 4the day before the examcertain candidates were taken to secure locations and made to memorize the answers. It was during this investigation that the names of several alleged 'solvers' and middlemen, including Sanjeev Mukhiya, surfaced. PATNA---------------------Alignment mapping work for the Patna-Sasaram Greenfield Expressway project commenced on Wednesday in the Kosihan *Mauza* (revenue village) of Koilwar block.

As soon as the mapping began, affected farmers voiced their objections regarding the determination of compensation. The farmers argued that while houses have stood on their land for years, the compensation is being calculated based on the land classification of "*Bhith*" (upland/dry land) recorded in land records dating back 60 years.

Villager Pintu Chaudhary stated that compensation for the land where houses are built should be paid at residential rates.

Following the farmers' protest, Circle Officer Uday Pratap Singh and Chandi Station House Officer (SHO) Rakesh Kumar Roshan arrived at the site and spoke with the villagers. The officials assured them that action would be taken in accordance with the rules and that the farmers' interests would be safeguarded.

Subsequently, with the farmers' consent and in the presence of the police, the alignment mapping work was initiated. During this process, obstructions in the alignment area were removed using machinery, and the land was leveled.

Santosh Kumar, Project Manager at Galfarthe company constructing the Greenfield Expresswaystated that the expressway, being built at a cost of approximately 3,750 crore, will run from Sadisopur in Patna district to Suara in Sasaram.

The project aims for completion within 30 months. Once constructed, the journey from Patna to Sasaram will take approximately two hours. He mentioned that the expressway would pass through the *Mauzas* of Khangaon, Kosihan, Manpur, Gundi, and Jalpura in the Koilwar block. As part of the project, a modern six-lane bridge will also be constructed over the Son River at Khangaon. Circle Officer Uday Pratap Singh stated that a request has already been sent to the Land Acquisition Department to provide compensation at residential rates to farmers whose land has houses built on it.

Back then, the reach of electricity and water to Bihars remote regions, the strict enforcement of prohibition, campaigns against social evils like the dowry system, the expansion of infrastructure (such as roads and healthcare facilities), and a robust law-and-order situation were considered tangible proof of the Chief Ministers "good governance" (*Sushasan*).

At that time, Nitish Kumars greatest strength was his "Janata Darbar" (public grievance redressal) program. Vashishtha Narayan Singh believed that this platform had not only become synonymous with the Chief Ministers public welfare policies but also kept the spirit of democracy aliveenabling even the most marginalized individuals to convey their concerns directly to the corridors of power. This has disrupted the movement of residents and caused them significant hardship.

Villagers stated that rainwater is unable to drain out because the drain is clogged. The villagers state that they have repeatedly informed panchayat representatives and relevant officials about this issue, yet no concrete action has been taken so far. They believe that removing encroachments from the government drain and undertaking proper cleaning, desilting, and widening could provide a permanent solution to this long-standing waterlogging problem. BUXAR---------------------------A protest demonstration and candle march were held at Bhagat Singh Chowk on Wednesday under the joint aegis of the District Congress 'Extremely Backward Class' (EBC) Cell and the District Congress Farmers' Cell. The event was organized to protest against the alleged mistreatment of Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and opposition MPs in Delhi, as well as to raise issues concerning students. The program was jointly led by Vinod Kushwaha, District President of the EBC Cell, and Sanjay Pandey, District President of the Farmers' Cell. The event commenced with the garlanding and offering of floral tributes at the statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. Subsequently, Congress leaders and workers pledged to uphold democracy, the Constitution, and students' rights. Dr. Manoj Pandey, former President of the Buxar District Congress Committee and a member of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, remarked that in his political career spanning nearly 40 years, he has witnessed numerous governments and political upheavals. He noted that history bears witness to the fact that the politics of arrogance and repression never endures, and that the people are the ultimate arbiters in a democracy. He alleged that the attempts to weaken democratic institutions and suppress the opposition's voice are a cause for concern. He further urged the government to focus on resolving issues related to students, unemployment, inflation, and farmers.

Member of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee Dr. Pramod Ojha stated that dissent must be respected in a democracy and that safeguarding the Constitution and democratic traditions is the responsibility of every citizen. He expressed confidence that the people would stand firm in support of democratic values.

BUXAR------------------------The 45th installation ceremony of Rotary Club Buxar was held in a dignified atmosphere on Tuesday at Aashirwad Banquet Hall on Block Road. The event took place during the official visit of Rotarian Anu Narang, Governor of Rotary International District 3250. During the ceremony, Rotarian Nirmal Kumar Singh assumed the role of President of Rotary Club Buxar for the 2026-27 term. Meanwhile, Sagar Verma [assumed the role] of President of Rotaract Club Buxar. Additionally, Harshita assumed office as the President of the Interact Club, Buxar.

The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by District Governor Anu Narang, Past District Governor Rotarian Sandeep Narang, Assistant District Governor T.N. Chaubey, newly elected President Nirmal Kumar Singh, and other guests. On this occasion, the club's annual souvenir, "Sarthak," was also unveiled. Representatives from Ara, Bihar Sharif, and Ballia, alongside the Rotary Club of Buxar, participated in the ceremony. Rotaract Club DRR Sadashiv Khatri and DRS Chanda Sahni were also present.

In her address, Chief Guest District Governor Anu Narang stated that the Rotary Club of Buxar has carved a distinct niche for itself through remarkable work in the field of social service. She noted that the club is not limited to merely advancing the objectives of Rotary International but is also executing several sustainable and impactful projects at the local level. She commended the club, highlighting significant achievements such as the Rotary Saheli Center, the Rotary Jagdish Eye Hospital in Dumraon, the dialysis center at the Methodist Hospital in Pratap Sagar, and the blood bank in Buxar.

Newly elected President Nirmal Kumar Singh stated that his efforts would focus on accelerating service initiatives that provide long-term benefits to society. He mentioned that the club would expand its activities from the city to rural areas as well. His priorities include organizing health check-up camps, developing government schools, providing books, school bags, and bicycles to needy children, encouraging the youth, and conducting extensive tree plantation drives for environmental conservation. He emphasized that Rotary's objective is not just to serve, but to bring about lasting, positive change in society.

During the ceremony, District Governor Anu Narang inducted nine new members into the Rotary Club of Buxar by pinning the Rotary badge on them. Aniruddh Singh, Vice President of the Delhi State Purvanchal Congress and a native of Dharauli village in Buxar district, also participated in the protest.

Aniruddh Singh stated that attempts to suppress the voice of students are detrimental to democracy. He alleged that the government is trying to divert attention from student issues, whereas the Congress party is consistently fighting for their rights.

He mentioned that an attempt was made to stop Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav outside New Delhi's Chhatrasal Stadium. Following this, Congress workers staged a protest by gheraoing the BJP office.

He demanded that for all future competitive and other examinations, exam centers be allocated either in the candidates' home regions or within a maximum radius of 100 kilometers. While addressing the House, MLA Anand Mishra stated that under the current system, many candidates are assigned examination centers hundreds of kilometers away, imposing an unnecessary financial burden on students and their parents. Long-distance travel leads to various difficulties, including a waste of time, safety concerns, and mental stress. He noted that this situation is particularly challenging for female students.

He urged the government to formulate a policy ensuring that every examinee is provided an examination center within their home region or, at most, within a 100-kilometer radius. He argued that this would provide financial relief to students, facilitate safe and timely arrival at the centers, and allow them to appear for the exam without additional stress.

Students and parents across the state have hailed this demand by MLA Anand Mishra as a significant and visionary initiative in the interest of students. They believe that if the government takes a positive decision in this regard, it will bring great relief to lakhs of examinees and make the examination system more convenient and student-friendly.

BUXAR-------------------------The Excise Department has achieved a major success as part of the ongoing campaign against illegal liquor in the district. During a routine vehicle check at the Excise Department's checkpost on the Veer Kunwar Singh Setu, 176 liters of foreign liquor and beer from various brands were seized from a car traveling from Ballia to Patna. Two smugglers, including a woman, were arrested during the operation.

According to reports, an Excise Department team was conducting intensive vehicle checks at the Veer Kunwar Singh Setu checkpost on Thursday afternoon. During this process, a suspicious car heading from Ballia to Patna was stopped and searched. A total of 176 liters of foreign liquor and beer of various brands, concealed inside the car, were recovered.

Ruby Devi, a resident of Phulwari Sharif (Patna), and the car driver, Chandan Kumar (son of Arun Kumar, resident of Jehanabad), were arrested at the scene. The Excise Department has also seized the car used for the smuggling.

A case has been registered against both arrested individuals under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, and further legal action is underway.

Excise Department officials stated that intensive vehicle check campaigns are being continuously conducted in border areas and at major checkposts to effectively curb liquor smuggling in the district. They added that this campaign would be further intensified in the coming days to completely halt the smuggling of illegal liquor.

ARA---------------------------A tragic incident has been reported from the Gajrajganj police station area in the Bhojpur district of Bihar. An eighth-grade student drowned in the Kudwa River near Akhtiyarpur (Barkagaon) village. A pall of gloom has descended on the village following the incident. Police, the NDRF, and local divers are continuously searching for the student's body.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 6:30 PM on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Ankit Kumar, son of Ajay Kumar, a resident of Akhtiyarpur (Barkagaon) under the Gajrajganj police station area. Ankit was a student of Class 8 at the village's Upgraded Middle School.

Family members stated that Ankit had left home on his bike in the evening for a ride. Shortly after, news arrived that he had drowned in the Kudwa River near the village. Family members and villagers rushed to the spot, but there was no trace of him.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Gajrajganj police arrived at the scene. Subsequently, an NDRF team and local divers were summoned. The search for the student has been ongoing since late at night. By the time this report was filednearly 12 hours laterthe student's body had not yet been recovered.

Ankit was the eldest of three siblings (two brothers and a sister). The family is devastated by the news of their son's death. Mourning prevails in the village, and everyone is shocked by this tragic incident.

Vikas Kumar Sinha, the village ward member, stated that Ankit drowned in deep water near the bridge over the Kudwa River around 6:30 PM on Thursday. Since the incident, the NDRF team and divers have been continuously searching for him.

The Gajrajganj police are overseeing the entire rescue operation. The administration has expressed hope that the student's body will be recovered soon. A somber atmosphere prevails in the area, and a large number of villagers have gathered along the riverbank.

ARA--------------------------Student protests in Patna have intensified, with demands for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak scandal. Police action has also ramped up following the demonstrations in the city.

While protests continue at Delhi's Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET paper leak, the student movement has gained momentum in Bihar as well. A massive protest was held on Wednesday, stretching from Gandhi Maidan to the Chief Minister's residence in Patna; the situation saw a lathi-charge and the firing of tear gas shells.

Following the protest in the capital, police from the Kotwali, Gandhi Maidan, and Sachivalaya police stations registered an FIR late at night against 500 unidentified individuals. Meanwhile, over 40 protesters were taken into custody, and police continued questioning them late into the night.

SSP Kartikeya Sharma stated that protesters are being identified based on CCTV footage, video recordings, and videos circulated on social media; arrests will follow identification. After the protest, Patna Police teams conducted raids in areas including Gandhi Maidan, Kadamkuan, Bahadurpur, Boring Road, and Buddha Colony.

According to sources, police have detained several individuals involved in the protest from various locations. Authorities are investigating the conspiracy behind the demonstration and how it was planned; details will be released once the investigation concludes. Additionally, the Cyber Cell is examining the role of YouTubers and social media content creators.

Earlier, the police administration appeared helpless against the students' strategy and the rapidly swelling crowd. In fact, whenever the police attempted to set up barricades to stop the protesters, the crowd would simply pick them up and carry them away. After the barricades were removed, the protesters moved forward en masse. They managed to evade and outmaneuver the police force for nearly six hours.

As the protest turned violent, heavy stone-pelting took place in the Dakbungalow and Bailey Road areas. Protesters vandalized the Patna IGs escort vehicle, City Magistrate Sanjay Kumars car, and several police vehicles. During the attacks, an attempt was made to overturn the car of Rohit Pandey, the BJP MLA from Bhagalpur, and he was assaulted. The launch of the ICU will ensure better treatment facilities for critically ill patients. Following the inauguration, the District Magistrate inspected the hospital, interacted with patients, and reviewed the healthcare services. The new ICU (Intensive Care Unit) was inaugurated at Ara Sadar Hospital in the Bhojpur district of Bihar.

ARA------------------------------Severe waterlogging near Khadra Turn (Bihiya) on the Bihiya-Jagdishpur State Highway in Bhojpur district has made life miserable for local residents and commuters. Taking a firm stand on this serious issue, former Jagdishpur MLA Bhai Dinesh has raised critical questions regarding the functioning of the district administration and the concerned departmental officials. Highlighting the grim situation, the former MLA stated that the road at Khadra Mor has ceased to be a road and has transformed into a pond. Thousands of peopleincluding schoolchildren, farmers, patients, and motoristsare forced to risk their lives while traversing this stretch daily. He alleged that the situation is deteriorating due to the administration's silence and apathy.

Expressing his displeasure, Bhai Dinesh recalled that last year, too, he had joined local residents in staging a protest against severe waterlogging at this very spot by blocking the road and symbolically fishing in the accumulated water. He noted that while the road was constructed at a cost of lakhs of rupees, no proper drainage system or drain was built to handle water runoff. This reflects a blatant misuse of public funds and gross negligence on the part of the concerned engineers.

District officialsincluding the District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO)as well as public representatives, frequently travel along this route. Yet, the lack of any concrete initiative to find a permanent solution stands as proof of the administration's insensitivity.

The former MLA demanded a high-level inquiry into the entire matter and called for strict punitive action against the negligent officials and engineers. He emphasized the need for the immediate construction of a permanent drain to make the road fit for traffic.

Issuing a stern ultimatum to the administration, Bhai Dinesh made it clear that if a permanent solution is not found within a week, he would be compelled to launch a democratic and peaceful protest alongside local residents right in the middle of the road at Khadra Mor. The deceased has been identified as 68-year-old Molan Chaudhary, a resident of Ward No. 10, Jagdishpur town. A farmer by profession, Chaudhary was working in his field on Wednesday afternoon, constructing a field embankment (*med*), when lightning struck him amidst sudden heavy rain and thunder, killing him instantly. Local villagers immediately informed his family and the police. Upon receiving the information, the police took possession of the body and arranged for a post-mortem examination at Sadar Hospital. ARA-------------------------The raging Cher River in Bhojpur district has emerged as a major disaster for the residents of Shahpur and Bihiya blocks. Heavy rains have caused the river's water level to rise to such an extent that the diversion for the bridge under construction near Rudranagar village on the Shahpur-Banahi road is completely submerged. Even the layers of brickbats and boulders laid by the Rural Works Department could not withstand the river's fierce current, severing the direct link between the block headquarters and over two dozen villages with a combined population of approximately 25,000. Currently, water is flowing about 15 feet above the diversion, making any form of movement impossible.

The complete disruption of this connecting route has deeply impacted daily life. A journey that previously covered only two kilometers now requires locals to travel a circuitous route of about 20 kilometers via Bihiya. This additional distance has placed an immense financial and physical burden on daily commuters, farmers, traders, and the working class. The situation is most concerning for patients and school students; timely ambulance access has become extremely difficult, creating a serious crisis for healthcare services, while the closure of the route has also disrupted the education of school children.

Local residents are deeply aggrieved by the situation. Villagers allege that the current crisis is the result of the contractor's arbitrary actions. According to them, they had previously suggested constructing the new bridge alongside the old one without demolishing the existing structure; however, workers allegedly demolished the old structure, driven by the lure of salvaging iron girders and other valuable construction materials.

It is worth noting that this bridge was known as the 'Lakadiya Pul'. The bridge was originally constructed using sturdy iron girders and wooden sleepers (planks). This durable structure was a fine example of engineering. Later, the wooden sleepers were removed, and the deck was replaced with a concrete slab. People believe that had the right technical decisions been made, they would not be facing such a dire situation today.

Meanwhile, the continuous rise in the river's water level has caused flooding in the low-lying areas of Rudranagar and Gaudadh, extending up to the local missionary school. The administration is keeping a close watch on the situation. The Executive Engineer of the Rural Works Department has clarified that repair work is not technically feasible until the water level recedes. According to him, departmental officials and engineers are camping at the site and constantly reviewing the situation.

The swelling of the Cher River is not a new phenomenon; floodwaters often spread from the Rudranagar turn to the Mission School. Local residents had previously apprised the contractor of this situation and advised against tampering with the robust infrastructure along the road between the Rudranagar turn and the Mission School. However, due to the contractor's arbitrary actions, the stability of the road itselfnot just the bridge's diversionhas now become a major challenge.

All eyes are now fixed on the river's water level. Until the water recedes, villagers will have to continue grappling with these daily hardships. According to available information, the injured student has been identified as 18-year-old Roshni Kumari, daughter of Niranjan Sharma, a resident of Narayanpur village under the Bihiya police station area. While en route, near Bihiya, she suddenly fell from the moving train, sustaining severe injuries.

According to reports, the missing teenager has been identified as Ankit Kumar, son of Ajay Paswan, a resident of Bakhtiyarpur. It is reported that Ankit was playing with his friends on Thursday evening when a dare was issued among the children; consequently, Ankit jumped into the river from a bridge. Unaware of the river's depth and current, he drowned.

He questioned whether public representatives, too, would be forced to rely on middlemen to convey their concerns if officials and staff remain inaccessible to the general public.

PATNA-------------------------AISA organized this protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue; a clash with the police ensued.

A tense situation arose in Patna on Wednesday (July 22, 2026) during an AISA march towards the Raj Bhavan (Lok Bhavan), as a heated clash broke out between protesting students and the police near Gandhi Maidan. For a while, the scenes on the capital's streets mirrored those witnessed recently during the march to the Parliament House in Delhi. Police fired tear gas shells and used water cannons to prevent the protesters from advancing.

According to reports, a large number of students set out from Gandhi Maidan on Wednesday morning for the march to the Raj Bhavan under the AISA banner. The protesters were marching towards the Raj Bhavan to press for various demands. The administration had made extensive security arrangements beforehand, deploying police forces and erecting barricades along the route from Gandhi Maidan to Hotel Maurya.

When the march reached Hotel Maurya near Gandhi Maidan, the police stopped the students from proceeding further. A scuffle broke out between the protesters and the police, which quickly escalated into a clash. Some protesters attempted to move forward by removing the barricades, while the police tried to hold them back. As the situation deteriorated, the police first fired tear gas shells to control the crowd. Subsequently, they attempted to disperse the protesters using high-pressure water cannons. Following the police action, a chaotic scene unfolded briefly, with many students seen running in different directions.

A heavy police force remained deployed in the area during the incident, and traffic was disrupted for some time. The administration states that necessary measures were taken to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident. Meanwhile, the protesting students allege that attempts were made to forcibly halt their peaceful rally. The situation is currently reported to be under control, although security arrangements at the site have been tightened.

ARA---------------------------Shahabad level meeting of CPI-ML was held at District Office Sritola Ara to organize the rural poor in Shahabad and to expand the organization and to intensify resistance against bulldozer rule.

Politburo member and State Secretary Kunal was present as a guest in the meeting. The current political situation of the country and the state was discussed in detail in the meeting. In the meeting, to organize the rural poor in Shahabad, All India Rural Farm Workers' Sabha (Khegramas) will make 5 lakh members and create a movement on their burning issues.

In the meeting, a special campaign is being run from 16th July to 31st July to expand and strengthen the party structures.

Addressing the meeting, CPI(ML) Politburo member and State Secretary Ka Kunal said that since Narendra Modi's government has brought inflation in the country, food plates are missing for the poor in the country.

Bulldozers are being run on the houses of the poor without making alternative arrangements! Due to which their homes are being destroyed!

Further, Male State Secretary Kunal said that in the name of Constitution, democracy and law, the BJP government in power in the country and the state is openly destroying democracy! Which is a threat to the common citizens! As soon as the new BJP government is formed in Bihar, bulldozers are wreaking havoc on the Dalits and the poor! Due to which an atmosphere of terror is being created in the entire Bihar! To stop the bulldozers and fake encounters, the Dalit poor of Bihar are organizing and fighting. Will create a movement and will work to push back the bulldozer government! He further said that in Bihar, Samrat's government has so far encountered 28 people in the state to establish encounter and bulldozer rule. The rule of law is being abolished and converted into police rule! Two Paswan caste youths were murdered by the priest after asking about their caste after entering a temple in Nalanda!

Further, MLA State Secretary Kunal, in strong words of the barbaric lathi charge by Samrat Choudhary's police during the Raj Bhawan march by AISA-INNOUS in Patna demanding the resignation of the country's Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to save education and employment against paper leaks, said that today the students and youth of the country will stand at the front line in their struggle for a better future against the dark future under the Modi government.
