BUXAR---------------------------Taking a major action against illegal liquor trade in the district, the court on Wednesday convicted two smugglers and imposed a sentence of 5 years and a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Special Public Prosecutor Awadhesh Kumar Rai, Additional Public Prosecutor Ravindra Kumar Sinha and Shyamashree Chandra said that The case dates back to March 2022, when the police arrested Mantu Yadav and Ankit Yadav while smuggling illicit liquor on a motorcycle near Udhura Ghat in Brahmapur police station area. The police recovered 25,200 liters of English liquor from them.
