TWO TICKET BROKERS ARRESTED

Ara, 10 November 2022, (RNI): RPF Inspector, Ara, Suman Kumari conducted raid at the reservation counter at Bihia railway station under Danapur railway station of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur in the evening on November 9, 2022 and arrested booking clerk Mukesh Kumar and Vikas Kumar of Hospital road under Bihia town police station who was in queue for ticket and brought them to Ara though other ticket brokers escaped from the scene.

Inspector, RPF, Ara, Suman Kumari said that she got information that ticket brokers in collusion with booking clerks were very much action at Bihia railway station and so she conducted raid at the booking counter at Bihia railway station and seized reservation counter and cash and arrested booking clerk Mukesh Kumar after verifying cash, reservation slips and other papers. As the RPF team entered the booking room, the booking clerk handed over a ticket to youth standing in the queue since morning for reservation of ticket for Ahmedabad. Seeing this, a team of RPF arrested the youth Vishal Kumar. As a result, reservation counter was closed for about three hours.

Reservation Supervisor said that reservation counter would be opened after the booking clerk came and reservation started in the evening the same day. Due to closure of reservation counter, passengers were a harried lot and they had to wait for long time for reservation of tickets.
