Confederation of Journalist Unions Announces New Office Bearers

New Delhi (RNI) The “Confederation of Journalist Unions,” committed to safeguarding the rights and interests of journalists across the nation, today announced the appointment of its new office bearers.

This confederation brings together several journalist bodies including the SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF), Indian Journalist Association (IJA), Periodical Press of India (PPI), United Union Journalist Society, Save UNI Movement, and the Indian All Media Journalists Association.

According to a press release issued by the Confederation’s Convener, senior Rajasthan journalist Dr. Surendra Sharma has been appointed as President, while Dr. R.K. Raman, former Press Advisor to the Bihar Government, has been named General Secretary. Subir Sen and R.K. Rai will serve as Vice Presidents, while Amanul Haque and Mrityunjay Sardar have been appointed as Secretaries. Hira Lal Pradhan and Meenakshi Chaudhary will take charge as Treasurers. Dr. Samrendra Pathak will continue his earlier responsibilities as Coordinator.

Several eminent journalists from across the country have been included in the National Executive Committee, including:
Ramnath Vidrohi, Uday Mishra, Kumar Bhavesh, Sushil Bharti, Umendra Dadhich, Akhilesh Akhil, M.S. Zakaria, Dr. Utkarsh Sinha, Gandhi Mishra Gagan, Jagdish Yadav, Sarika Jha, Sunny Atri, Kumar Samat, Rajesh Thakur, J.P. Sharma, Dr. Pradeep Suman, Santosh Jha, and Dr. Samrendra Pathak.

The Patron Board of the Federation includes Members of Parliament Rajesh Ranjan (alias Pappu Yadav), Kirti Azad, Khagen Murmu, Veena Devi, and Sudhakar Singh, along with former MPs Mangani Lal Mandal and Ali Anwar.

Special invitees to the Confederation include Dr. B.N. Mishra, Girjesh Rastogi, Dalip Puri, Prof. Yogesh Kumar and Arvind Pathak.

Prominent lawyers from the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, and Allahabad High Court—including A.P.N. Giri, Santosh Kumar, Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, K.K. Jha, Jitendra Jha, Ram Badan Chaudhary, Vinay Jha, Keshav Chaudhary, Arvind Chaudhary, and Navesh Kumar—have been appointed as the Legal Advisors to the Confederation.
