BUXAR---------------------------Shocking incidents are continuously emerging from the district's government schools, and the scope of the Education Department's punitive actions is widening with each new case. Following incidents of sexual misconduct against female students, allegations of a student being made to massage a teacher's shoulders, and complaints of beatings with iron scales and slippers, departmental action has once again been taken after a viral video showing children being beaten surfaced. In the latest incident, Vipin Kumar, the teacher-in-charge of Girls' Middle School, Rampur (Chausa Block), has been suspended.
According to an order issued by the District Education Officer's office on September 3, a video of Girls' Middle School, Rampur, went viral on social media on July 29. The video brought to light allegations of inhumane behavior—specifically physical assault and the infliction of physical harm—by Block Teacher Sushma Singh against the school's students. Following the viral video, the Block Education Officer of Chausa inspected the school on August 1 and sought an explanation from the concerned teacher and the teacher-in-charge (acting headmaster). After the inquiry and review of the explanation, a recommendation was made to take action against the teacher-in-charge, Vipin Kumar, for negligence in school operations, indiscipline, and conduct unbecoming of a teacher's dignity and professional standards.
Subsequently, Vipin Kumar was suspended and subjected to departmental proceedings under the Bihar Government Servants (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 2005. The Block Resource Centre in Nawanagar has been designated as his headquarters during the suspension period.
Recently, an incident involving the sexual abuse of female students came to light at a middle school in Nathuni Ahir Ka Dera, Dumraon block. Following this, an inspection at the Middle School Garhatha Kala in Brahmpur revealed several academic and administrative irregularities—including allegations that a female student was made to massage a teacher's shoulder—leading to the suspension of four teachers, including the teacher-in-charge.
Meanwhile, female students from Acharya Narendra Dev Middle School in Buxar lodged a complaint alleging physical assault and mistreatment by the headmistress and other female teachers. The students also accused the headmistress of beating them with an iron scale and a slipper. Following the investigation Subsequently, Headmistress Anju Kumari was suspended, and departmental proceedings were initiated against her.
Now, a viral video from the Rampur school in Chausa—and the ensuing action taken against the teacher-in-charge—has once again stirred up the education department. The continuous stream of such incidents and the rapid succession of suspensions are raising questions about the state of government schools, while the department's strict stance has created a sense of panic among teachers and school management.
