ARA------------------------------While the entire city was busy preparing for the auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan on Friday, a massive traffic jam that occurred in the afternoon near Godhna Mor and Bahiro Lakh Bridge threw daily life into complete disarray. Ordinary citizens, drivers, and passengers endured immense hardship due to the gridlock, which lasted for hours.

Haphazard parking and the tendency of drivers to overtake indisciplinedly were the primary reasons behind the collapse of the traffic system. Long queues of vehicles stretched from Godhna Mor to the Eastern Overbridge and from Bihari Mill to Anaith, exposing the flaws in the city's traffic management. The impact of this severe jam was so profound that traffic movement came to a complete standstill.

Amidst the chaos on the roads, the most distressing situation was faced by those in ambulances. Ambulances transporting patients battling between life and death remained trapped in the jam. Additionally, several government and VIP vehicles were also caught in the gridlock. Due to the Raksha Bandhan festival, the roads were teeming with two-wheelers and luxury vehicles. Amidst the scorching sun and humid heat, young children traveling with their parents appeared distressed and were crying inconsolably.

A similar chaotic situation was witnessed near the Bahiro Lakh Bridge. The rush to overtake on the narrow road exacerbated the crisis. Long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the Lakh Bridge, leaving no room to maneuver. Stranded in the gridlock, people were forced to wait for hours, cursing their fate. The situation became so dire that some desperate individuals abandoned the main road to try and navigate through narrow lanes, only to face immense difficulties due to the cramped spaces and crowds.

Eventually, after a considerable delay, patrol teams from the Traffic Police and Nawada Police Station stepped in to manage the situation and bring it under control. After much effort, the police organized the vehicles into lines and worked to gradually restore the flow of traffic to normal.
