PATNA-----------------------A shocking incident has emerged from Patna, the capital of Bihar. A gang rape of sisters was committed in a village under the Naubatpur police station area. The atrocity took place after the sisters were invited under the pretext of performing a dance at a *tilak* ceremony. They were effectively abducted en route, and multiple men raped them throughout the night. The incident occurred on June 18, 2026. The sisters had been invited to perform at the *tilak* ceremony. The complaint states that instead of taking them to the venue, Munna Kumar, his cousin Suraj, and other youths forcibly took the sisters away. They were then taken to various locations and gang-raped. When the victims resisted, they were physically assaulted.

The two sisters are originally from Jharkhand but live in the Mithapur area of Patna for their livelihood. As they are not highly educated, they support their family by performing dances at weddings and other events. In their complaint to the police, the sisters stated they had been invited to dance at the *tilak* ceremony with the promise of immediate payment upon completion of the performance; they had agreed to the engagement for this reason.

Munna Kumar, Suraj Kumar, Bhanu Kumar, and several others intercepted the sisters before they reached the venue and raped them at various locations throughout the night. It is reported that after the night-long ordeal, the accused were bringing the sisters back on Friday morning when the women seized an opportunity in the Phulwari police station area to raise an alarm. Locals rushed to the scene and alerted the police (via the 112 emergency service). Meanwhile, the accused managed to flee. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived and brought the sisters to the Phulwari police station. Subsequently, they were taken to the Naubatpur police station, where the victimized sisters lodged a complaint. The perpetrators had snatched their mobile phones and threatened to kill them if they reported the incident.

Acting on the victims' complaint, the Naubatpur police have registered a case against 10 accused individuals. Naubatpur Station House Officer (SHO) Manjit Kumar Thakur stated that an FIR has been lodged against a total of 10 people, including Munna Kumar, Suraj Kumar, and Bhanu Kumar. So far, one person has been arrested, while the others remain at large.
