BUXAR---------------------------A sensation gripped the area on Tuesday morning after the body of an unidentified youth was found near Kulmanpur village on the Dumraon Canal Line road, within the jurisdiction of the Basudeva police station. Upon learning of the incident, a large number of villagers gathered at the spot and informed the police. Acting on the information received, Basudeva Station House Officer (SHO) Vikas Chandra arrived at the scene with a police team. The police retrieved the body from the canal, took it into custody, and—after completing the necessary legal formalities—sent it to the Old Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Preliminary investigation revealed multiple deep wounds on the body caused by a sharp-edged weapon. Based on this, the police suspect the youth was murdered. The deceased's face was badly disfigured, and identification was impossible due to the body having remained in the water for several days. According to the police, the body appears to be three to four days old.

The police suspect that the youth was murdered elsewhere, and the body was dumped in the canal to destroy evidence. SHO Vikas Chandra stated that information regarding the incident has been sent to all neighboring police station areas, and the details are being cross-referenced with missing person reports.

He added that the exact cause of death would be ascertained once the post-mortem report is received. Meanwhile, the police are conducting a thorough investigation, considering all aspects of the case.
