GRP INSPECTOR ARRESTED RED HANDED WHILE TAKING BRIBE IN SASARAM

SASARAM---------------------------A team of Vigilance arrested a GRP Inspector Vijay Kumar Singh red handed while taking bribe of Rs.15,000 in the name of getting bail in Sasaram.

Senior DSP of Vigilance Department Kiran Paswan said that a case related to assault was registered on 24 February 2025 by Neeraj Kumar Gupta, a resident of Rohtas district. In this case, Inspector Vijay Kumar Singh had demanded ₹15,000 in the name of getting bail. The Vigilance Department team laid a trap and caught the inspector red handed while taking a bribe of ₹5000 Basanti Kumari, wife of Ranjit Kumar alias Karan Yadav, who is posted in the Central Prohibition Department, was trying for bail in this case. After the inspector demanded bribe, the victim party complained to the Vigilance Department. The department's team laid a trap and caught the sub-inspector red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹5000.

It is worth mentioning that in the last two months, many cases of corruption have been exposed in Rohtas district, in which many officers have been caught taking bribe by the CBI and Vigilance Department. These incidents reflect the deep corruption prevailing in the district.
