ARA--------------------------With the objective of making public spaces in the district encroachment-free, a significant review meeting was held on Friday via Zoom, presided over by the District Magistrate of Bhojpur, Tanay Sultania. During the meeting, directives were issued to launch an intensive campaign to remove encroachments.
The District Magistrate directed all Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), Municipal Commissioners, Municipal Executive Officers, Circle Officers, and other concerned officials to conduct a comprehensive drive to clear encroachments from all public spaces, including market areas, road project sites, drains, and canals.
He stated that encroachments on roads and in markets give rise to serious issues such as traffic congestion, law and order disturbances, and waterlogging. Keeping the upcoming monsoon season in mind, specific instructions were issued to remove encroachments from all drains without fail, in order to ensure smooth water drainage.
The District Magistrate clarified that all permanent and temporary illegal structures built in markets, at road construction sites, and over drains must be demolished. Furthermore, he directed the concerned departments to ensure coordinated action among themselves. If any individual is found to be encroaching again, a fine will be imposed, and a First Information Report (FIR) will be lodged against them.
Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Police, Bhojpur, directed all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to ensure the availability of adequate police force during the anti-encroachment drive and to coordinate closely with the magistrates to ensure the success of the campaign.
The meeting was attended by the Municipal Commissioner, all Sub-Divisional Officers, DCLRs, Sub-Divisional Police Officers, Circle Officers, the Executive Engineer (RCD), engineers from the Flood Control Department, and other concerned officials.
