ARA------------------------CPI(ML) and RYA blocked State Highway 102 in Bihiya to demand the safe recovery of Sanoj Ram—a resident of Ganj in Bihiya block—and a judicial inquiry into the matter.
A march was organized, starting from the Bihiya Block gate and passing through the town's vegetable market and Dak Bungalow Chowk before culminating in a public meeting at Dharhara.
Addressing the gathering, CPI(ML) Block Secretary Comrade Harendra Singh stated that on August 13, 2025, Sanoj Ram had gone to Doghra for wage labor. When he was late returning in the evening, he called his brother, Manoj Ram, informing him that he had been arrested by the Excise Department police near Dharhara Musahar Toli. When Manoj Ram called back, Sanoj told him, "The police are beating me brutally; please save me somehow." When his family members went to the local Excise Department police station, they were turned away and told that no one had been arrested there. At the time of his arrest, his wife had a three-month-old infant; tragically, the child died shortly after birth due to malnutrition. His father submitted a written complaint to the local Bihiya police station the following day, but no action has been taken on it to date. MP Sudama Prasad had met Bhojpur District Magistrate Tanay Sultania to demand Sanoj Ram's safe recovery, yet he remained missing. Consequently, his father, Gaurishankar Ram, approached the High Court two months ago; the High Court subsequently ordered action against the guilty police personnel, leading to their arrest.
Niranjan Keshari, District Secretary of the Inquilabi Naujawan Sabha (Revolutionary Youth Association), remarked that the establishment of "police raj" (police rule) under the Samrat Chaudhary-led government in Bihar has caused incidents of police high-handedness to reach an all-time high. The Bhojpur district administration must explain how Sanoj Ram disappeared from police custody; the administration is answerable for this and must ensure his safe recovery. Otherwise, the CPI(ML) and RYA will intensify the agitation by organizing road blockades across Bhojpur and the entire state of Bihar. Furthermore, demands were raised that if Sanoj Ram has been killed, his family be given compensation of one crore rupees, and a double murder case be registered against the guilty police personnel to ensure they receive the strictest possible punishment.
Participants in the protest march included Uttam Ji, AISA District Secretary Jayshankar Ji, RYA District Secretary Niranjan Keshari Ji, Shahpura Town Secretary Baiju Kushwaha Ji, AISA District Vice-President Anup Ji, Vimal Ji, Anand Sharma Ji, Dheeraj Ji, Arvind Ji, Firoz Ji, Deepu Ram Ji, Ajay Ji, Guddu Yadav Ji, Vidrohi Ji, Vishwakarma Ji, Vivekanand Ji, Kamlesh Gosain Ji, and Abhishek Paswan, among others. The meeting was conducted by AISA District Secretary Comrade Jayshankar Ji.
