ARA-------------------------A joint team of the RPF (Railway Protection Force) and GRP (Government Railway Police) arrested Rohit Tiwari on Tuesday evening in Prayagraj; he is accused of snatching passengers' belongings and throwing them off moving trains. The police team has departed from Prayagraj with the accused, heading towards Patna.

Rohit Tiwari is being investigated as an accused whose modus operandi resembles that of a 'psycho killer' targeting train passengers.

The joint team formed for the arrest comprised personnel from GRP Patna, GRP Danapur, and RPF Ara. Following the operation in Prayagraj, the team is returning to Patna with the accused. The police will now interrogate him to gather information regarding other incidents that have occurred along the railway route.

The accused is reported to be a resident of Bariswan village in the Shahpur block of Bhojpur district. His activities are being investigated across the railway section extending from Patna Junction (Danapur Railway Division) to Ara, Buxar, DDU (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction), and further towards Jabalpur.

In such incidents, the police often faced the challenge of gathering evidence because the stolen belongings were rarely recovered. Furthermore, concrete clues regarding the accused were seldom available immediately after the incident.

Following a recent incident in the Danapur area, the Railway Police and RPF took the matter seriously and stepped up surveillance. In this process, the suspect's movements were monitored after an incident occurred on a train near Jagjivan Halt on Monday afternoon.

Based on technical data and location tracking, it was discovered that the suspect was in the Prayagraj area. Subsequently, the joint team from GRP Patna, GRP Danapur, and RPF Ara devised a plan of action.

The team reached Prayagraj and arrested Rohit Tiwari. He is currently being brought to Patna. The police will interrogate him to obtain information about other incidents on the railway route and identify any potential accomplices. According to the railway police, the accused's activities and cases linked to past incidents are being investigated. Authorities are trying to determine which trains and railway sections he targeted and what was done with the stolen items.

The police are also investigating whether anyone else was involved alongside Rohit Tiwari in these incidents. His potential links to previously recorded railway crimes are also being examined.

Once Rohit Tiwari is brought to Patna, teams from the GRP and RPF will subject him to detailed interrogation. The police aim to ascertain the circumstances under which he targeted passengers and the extent of his alleged involvement in incidents to date.
