PATNA------------------------A total of 24 proposals were approved during the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Under this, approval was granted to establish Ramdhari Singh Dinkar University in Begusarai and Mata Sita Women's University in Patna. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced the approval for these two universities via a tweet. Administrative approval of ₹15 crore each has been granted to cover expenses such as salaries for officials and committees of these universities. Arvind Chaudhary, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Department, stated that approval was given to transfer 99.39 acres of land to the Sugarcane Industries Department free of cost for the establishment of a sugar mill at Masudapur in the Warisaliganj area of ​​Nawada district.

Subway to Patna Junction named after Acharya Kishore Kunal: Approval was granted to officially name the underground subway—which connects the multi-modal hub near GPO Golambar to Patna Junction—as the 'Acharya Kishore Kunal Subway'.

The jurisdiction of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar University will extend to all constituent and affiliated colleges in the Begusarai and Khagaria districts. Colleges currently affiliated with Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University will remain separate from this arrangement.

The jurisdiction of Mata Sita Women's University will cover all constituent and affiliated women's colleges in Patna district, excluding the colleges of Patna University.

The cabinet meeting also approved the special release of prisoners on Gandhi Jayanti. A proposal was cleared to release various categories of convicted prisoners by granting them the benefit of 'special remission'. This release will be based on established criteria; recommendations will be received from the districts, followed by a review by a state-level committee, after which the final decision on the prisoners' release will be taken.

Patna. To boost milk production and increase the income of livestock farmers in the dairy sector, the government has approved projects worth ₹126.07 crore for dairy development in the Supaul, Madhepura, and Saharsa districts. These projects will be implemented during the financial years 2026-27 and 2027-28 under the 'Saat Nischay-3' (Seven Resolves-3) initiative.

The entire cost of these projects will be covered by a 100% grant from the state scheme. The initiative will help integrate livestock farmers into the organized milk business through new Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCS) and provide better market access for their produce. Additionally, facilities related to milk processing and Bulk Milk Cooling Units (BMCU) will be expanded to ensure safe milk collection and transport to processing centers. The establishment of modern dairy and premium ice-cream plants will enable local-level value addition to milk. Emphasis has also been placed on improving animal nutrition and dairy production capacity through TMR plants and 'Bees Feekar' farms.

An Integrated Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Scheme worth ₹195.28 crore will be implemented in the Basantpur, Bhagwanpur Hat, and Goriyakothi blocks of Siwan district; this was approved during a cabinet meeting. The scheme focuses on increasing fish production and boosting farmers' income.

To make livestock-related data in Bihar more scientific, the state government has approved the creation of 81 new posts. These posts will be created under the centrally sponsored 'Livestock Census' scheme. An expenditure of ₹5.21 crore has been sanctioned to cover the costs associated with these approved posts.
