Waterlogging and Mud Create Hardships for Residents in Awas Vikas Colony Budaun

RNI Badaun: Residents of Awas Vikas Colony in Badaun are facing severe inconvenience due to waterlogging and accumulated mud following recent rainfall. Several areas, including Blocks A and B, have witnessed stagnant water outside residential houses, turning roads and pathways into muddy quagmires and disrupting daily movement.

Local residents allege that while the Municipal Council carries out periodic cleaning of drains and sewers, the sludge and waste removed during the process are often left unattended for days. The accumulated mud outside homes becomes a major nuisance during rains, worsening sanitation and accessibility issues.

According to residents, the Municipal Council has the necessary machinery to remove sludge and waste from roads and drains. However, they claim that the available resources are not being utilized effectively to address the problem. Poor drainage maintenance has further aggravated the situation, leading to water accumulation even after moderate rainfall.

Frustrated by the persistent issue, residents have taken to social media platforms, sharing photographs and videos of the waterlogged streets and mud-covered roads. Many have criticized the Municipal Council and local administration, demanding immediate corrective measures.

Residents have urged the authorities to improve the drainage system and ensure the prompt removal of sludge after drain-cleaning operations so that people do not have to suffer during the monsoon season.
