ARA--------------------------On a bright Sunday morning in Arrah, Bihar, the Red Cross Bhawan auditorium came alive with youthful energy, devotion and purpose. Under the aegis of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Bhojpur, the Sri Sathya Sai Youth Conference 2026 unfolded as a powerful reminder that the true strength of a nation lies in its youth when that strength is guided by service, discipline and spiritual values. Large numbers of young people, social workers and members of the Sai organisation gathered to receive a clear message: youth power is divine power when it is aligned with love, service and sadhana.

The programme began at 9 a.m. with prayer and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Present on the occasion were Dr. Shailendra Kumar, District President of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Bhojpur; Dr. Dilip Kumar Verma, Spiritual Coordinator; Shri Rajkumar Prasad, Convenor of the Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Bihar; Shri Satyendra Kumar, State Spiritual Coordinator; Dr. Jai Narayan Dubey, State Medical Coordinator; and Yoga Acharya Shri Suryaprakash Pathak. Their collective presence set a tone of solemnity and inspiration as the lamp was lit, symbolising the illumination of knowledge and the dispelling of ignorance.

First Session: Foundations of Faith, Success and Self-Mastery

The morning session focused on themes that speak directly to the aspirations and challenges of today’s youth. Speakers addressed five interconnected subjects: “Sri Sathya Sai Baba – Our Master, Our Protector and Our Guide,” “Mantras of Success,” “Employment Opportunities for Youth,” “Yoga and Life,” and “Sai’s Message for the Youth.”

Central to the deliberations was the recognition of Sri Sathya Sai Baba as the eternal guide whose life and teachings continue to light the path. Participants were reminded that success is not merely material achievement but the harmonious development of character, competence and compassion. Employment was discussed not only as economic necessity but as an opportunity to serve society with integrity. Yoga and life were presented as inseparable: the practice of yoga, particularly pranayama and disciplined living, equips the young with physical vitality, mental clarity and emotional balance. Sai’s message for the youth was distilled into the simple yet profound call to live with love, serve selflessly and pursue spiritual sadhana.

Afternoon Session: From Disability to Divinity – Building Character Through Activity

The post-lunch session shifted from discourse to experience. Through sports, interactive activities and discussions, the organisers emphasised personality development, cleanliness, environmental protection, discipline and the practice of pranayama. One of the most moving themes was “From Disability to Divinity.” Speakers and facilitators encouraged participants to look beyond physical or social limitations and recognise the divine potential inherent in every individual. Young people were urged to cultivate positive thinking, self-confidence, the spirit of service and a deep sense of responsibility towards the environment.

The activities were designed to translate ideals into lived experience. Cleanliness drives and environmental awareness sessions reinforced the understanding that care for the outer world begins with care for the inner self. Discipline and pranayama were presented as practical tools for mastering the mind and body. In an age of distraction and restlessness, these practices offer the youth a way to centre themselves and channel their energy constructively.

Closing Message: Love, Service and Sadhana

As the conference drew to a close, organisers and guests expressed gratitude to all who contributed to its success. The final message to the assembled youth was clear and stirring: discharge your responsibilities towards society and the nation, and walk the path of “Love, Service and Sadhana.” The central theme of the gathering – “Yuva Shakti Divya Shakti” (Youth Power is Divine Power) – captured the spirit of the day. When the energy, idealism and creativity of the young are guided by spiritual values, they become instruments of divine purpose.

The Eternal Mission of the Avatar: Understanding Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Advent

The conference was not merely an organisational event; it was an opportunity to reflect on the deeper purpose of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s avatarhood. Baba himself declared: “I take birth age after age.” The purpose of the avatar is the protection of the righteous, the destruction of evil tendencies, and the firm establishment of dharma. Whenever the world is overtaken by restlessness and disharmony, the Lord assumes human form to re-establish the path of peace and to re-educate humanity.

In the present age, conflict and discord have robbed families, schools, societies, religions, towns and states of peace and unity. Saints and sages have long awaited the Lord’s advent. In response to the prayers of sadhus and spiritual seekers, Baba came. His primary work, He said, is the promotion of the Vedas and the fostering of devotees. The signs by which people recognise His glory are the devotee’s own austerity, self-control, detachment, faith and steadfastness. One can truly call oneself a devotee only when one has surrendered completely and without ego into His hands. Only then can one experience the bliss that He bestows.

Avatars take human form so that human beings may feel kinship with them. Yet they use their divine powers so that people may aspire to those heights and, through that aspiration, actually reach them. The purpose of the human form is to enable every person to experience the God within as the guiding force.

Unlike the avatars of Rama and Krishna, who had to destroy specific individuals regarded as enemies of righteous living so that virtue could be re-established, the present age presents a different challenge. No one is wholly good; all are tainted by evil tendencies. If the avatar were to uproot evil completely, who would remain? Therefore Baba came to reform the intellect through various means. He accepts advice, help, commands and even criticism, standing as a friend and well-wisher so that people may abandon harmful tendencies, recognise the straight path and walk it to their goal. People must be taught the importance of the Vedas, scriptures and spiritual texts that lay down moral principles. “If you accept Me and say ‘Yes,’ I will also reply ‘Yes, yes, yes!’ If you refuse and say ‘No,’ I will also say ‘No.’ Come, test, experience and believe. That is the way to make use of Me.”

Restoring Dharma, Peace and Love

Baba’s mission is the restoration of dharma, peace and love. He declared: “I have come to give you the key to the treasure of bliss.” In His discourses He does not speak of Sai Baba as a separate entity; He bears the name of the Sai avatar, yet makes no distinction between the various forms of God – Sai, Rama or Krishna. He does not claim that one is greater than another. Devotees are encouraged to continue worshipping their chosen form of God in the manner already familiar to them. In doing so they draw closer to Him, for all names and all forms are His. Having seen and heard Him, there is no need to abandon one’s chosen deity for a new one.

Rama came to nourish the roots of truth and dharma. Krishna came to promote peace and love. Today these four – truth, dharma, peace and love – are on the verge of disappearing. That is why the present avatar has come. Dharma that had retreated into the forests must be brought back into villages and towns. The anti-dharma sentiment that is destroying villages and towns must be driven back into the wilderness.

Baba came to give the key to the treasure of joy and to teach the way to reach the source of that joy, because humanity has forgotten the path of supreme bliss. Those who waste this opportunity for self-redemption will face the consequences of their neglect. Many approach Him seeking superficial and trivial things – minor cures, promotions and worldly comforts. Very few seek what He has come to give – liberation. Even among those few, only a handful remain steadfast on the path of sadhana and succeed.

Worldly intelligence cannot comprehend the ways of God. Cleverness of the intellect alone cannot recognise Him. One may benefit from God, but one cannot fully understand Him. Explanations are often mere speculation and attempts to hide ignorance behind elaborate language. In daily practice one must include something that demonstrates that one has learnt from Him the secret of higher living. Show greater brotherhood. Speak with greater sweetness and restraint. Bear both victory and defeat with equanimity.

Baba is always aware of the past, present and future of every individual. Because He knows the past and the background, His responses differ. Sometimes, because of deliberately committed evil actions in previous births, He allows suffering to continue, often with some minor compensation. He neither gives happiness nor sorrow; human beings themselves create the two bonds that bind them. He is the embodiment of bliss – Anandaswarupa. Come, receive bliss from Him, remain absorbed in that bliss and become filled with peace.

Revival of the Vedas and Scriptures

“My main task is the revival of the Vedas and scriptures.” The establishment of dharma is His goal. Preaching dharma and spreading dharma is His purpose. The so-called miracles are merely a means to that end.

Sceptics criticise without knowledge. If they study the scriptures or gain direct experience, they can understand Him. Innate laziness prevents people from undertaking the spiritual practices necessary to know the nature of God. This laziness must be removed. It must be extracted from human nature in whatever form it appears. That is His purpose. His work is not limited to the removal of individual sufferings, consolation and curing of diseases – though these are secondary aspects of His mission. His primary task is the restoration of the Vedas and scriptures and the dissemination of their knowledge to all people. This work will certainly succeed. It will not be limited or slowed down. When the Lord decides and wills, no one can obstruct His divine will.

Preservation of Sanatana Dharma

Baba has come to teach the essence of the Vedas to all, to shower this precious gift, and to protect and preserve Sanatana Dharma and the ancient wisdom. His purpose is to spread happiness; therefore He is always ready to come among people not once but as many times as they desire. Many come to Him with health problems and various mental anxieties. These are merely the attractions by which they are drawn here. The main purpose is that they may receive grace and that their faith in God may be strengthened.

Problems and worries should actually be welcomed, for they teach humility and reverence. All dissatisfaction arises from running after external objects. There is no end to such desire. Once one becomes a slave of the senses, they do not leave until death. It is a thirst that is never quenched. Yet Baba calls people to Himself and even grants worldly boons so that they may turn towards God. No previous avatar has done this – going among the masses, giving counsel and guidance, offering consolation, elevating them and leading them along the path of truth, dharma, peace and love.

Closeness of the Heart

“Develop the feeling of closeness with Me in the heart, and the fruit will certainly be obtained.” If one surrenders everything to the Lord and becomes devoted to Him, He will protect and guide. The Lord has come precisely for this work. He declares that He will do so, and this is the work for which He has come. He knows the restlessness and aspirations of the human heart, though people do not know His heart. He responds to human pain and joy because He resides in every heart. He dwells in the temple of every heart. Do not break contact and company, for coal becomes an ember only when it remains in contact with burning embers.

Develop the feeling of closeness with Him in the heart and the fruit will certainly be obtained. Then one will also receive a share of that supreme love. This is a great opportunity. Believe that all will be liberated. Know that you are saved. Many hesitate to believe that conditions will improve, that life will become happy and joyful for all, and that the golden age will return. Baba assures that this embodiment of dharma, this divine body, has not come in vain. It will succeed in averting the crisis that has befallen humanity.

Youth as Instruments of Divine Purpose

The Sri Sathya Sai Youth Conference 2026 in Arrah stands as a living expression of this eternal mission. By bringing young people together under the banner of “Yuva Shakti Divya Shakti,” the organisers translated Baba’s teachings into practical inspiration. The emphasis on service, cleanliness, environmental care, discipline, yoga and positive thinking is not incidental; it is the application of Sanatana Dharma in contemporary life.

When youth internalise the message of love, service and sadhana, they become channels through which dharma can return to villages and towns. When they practise the mantras of success rooted in character rather than mere ambition, they contribute to the revival of truth and righteousness. When they approach employment as an opportunity to serve, and yoga as a means of self-mastery, they embody the peace and love that Krishna came to promote and that Sai has come to restore.

The conference also reminded participants that spiritual life is not escape from the world but the transformation of the world through transformed individuals. Problems and difficulties are not obstacles but teachers of humility. Worldly desires, if pursued without discrimination, lead only to endless thirst. Yet when the same energy is directed towards the divine, it becomes the means of liberation.

A Call to the Rising Generation

In an age marked by restlessness, conflict and the erosion of values, the message that emerged from the Red Cross Bhawan in Arrah is both timely and timeless. Youth power becomes divine power when it is surrendered to the higher purpose. The avatar has come not merely to grant temporary relief but to re-establish the foundations of dharma, to revive the Vedas and scriptures, and to lead humanity back to the source of lasting bliss.

Those who attended the Sri Sathya Sai Youth Conference 2026 carried away more than memories of speeches and activities. They carried a challenge and an assurance. The challenge is to live the ideals of love, service and sadhana in daily life. The assurance, given by the avatar Himself, is that this divine body has not come in vain. It will succeed in guiding humanity through the present crisis and in ushering in an age of greater harmony, peace and joy.
