Rama Hospital Claims Patient Was Taken Home Against Medical Advice, Alleges Attack on Premises

RNI BADAUN (Uttar Pradesh): Rama Hospital has issued a detailed statement presenting its version of the July 29 incident involving alleged stone-pelting, vandalism and viral social media videos at its premises. The hospital claimed that patient Rajveer was taken home by his family against medical advice after signing a written consent accepting full responsibility, and that a group later returned to the hospital and created a disturbance.

According to the hospital, neurosurgeon Dr. Yashveer Singh had informed the patient's relatives that Rajveer had suffered a serious head injury and required continued treatment on ventilator support. The doctor reportedly advised that the patient should remain under intensive medical care before being shifted to the general ward. However, the family allegedly chose not to follow the medical advice.

The hospital stated that the patient's relatives signed the prescribed consent form and discharged Rajveer on their own responsibility at around 4 p.m. on July 29. He was then taken by ambulance to his native village, Uprela. The hospital maintained that the patient was conscious and alive at the time of discharge and claimed that the entire sequence was captured on its CCTV cameras.

Rama Hospital further said that Dr. Yashveer Singh, an M.Ch. Neurosurgeon, has been serving at the institution for the past five years and has successfully treated numerous patients with head and spinal injuries. The hospital claimed that the patient's family had been informed in writing about the seriousness of the injury, the proposed surgery, possible complications and associated risks before treatment.

According to the hospital's statement, the patient's relatives returned to the hospital at around 9 p.m. the same day and allegedly placed Rajveer outside the main gate before creating a commotion. The hospital alleged that its premises were attacked, stones were thrown, window panes were damaged and staff members were abused. It also claimed that videos recorded during the incident were circulated on social media in a misleading manner with the intention of tarnishing the hospital's reputation.

The hospital further stated that police have registered a case in connection with the alleged attack on the hospital premises and the circulation of purportedly misleading videos. It added that a case has also been registered against one or two hospital employees. The matter is currently under police investigation, and further action will be taken based on the findings.
