CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED TO RENAME BUXAR TO SIDDHASHRAM

BUXAR----------------------Preparations are underway to intensify the campaign to rename the city ‘Siddhashram’ in recognition of Buxar’s historical, cultural, and spiritual identity. Under the leadership of BJP leader Varsha Pandey, a public dialogue and press conference will be held on Friday—Independence Day—at Basaon Mathia, Buxar. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM. Scholars, historians, litterateurs, educationists, and enlightened citizens from the fields of religion and spirituality will participate in this event, which is being organized under the initiative titled "Call it Siddhashram, not Buxar." Discussions will be held regarding various aspects of Buxar's historical and cultural identity.

Organizer Varsha Pandey stated that Buxar's identity is not limited to its current name; it is also deeply rooted in ancient history, culture, tradition, and spiritual heritage. She noted that Buxar is associated with Siddhashram—the land of penance for Maharshi Vishwamitra and the land of enlightenment for Lord Shri Ram. Given this, a broad dialogue within society regarding this historical identity is essential.

She emphasized that 'Siddhashram' is not merely a name but an identity linked to Buxar's glorious ancient traditions and cultural heritage. Through public dialogue, the views and suggestions of experts from various fields and enlightened members of society will be sought.

The event is expected to feature detailed discussions on Buxar's historical and cultural identity, the religious and historical contexts associated with Siddhashram, the possibilities of renaming the place, and the subsequent procedures involved. According to the organizers, this initiative—launched on the occasion of Independence Day—marks a significant step towards fostering public awareness and dialogue regarding Buxar's ancient identity.
