UP Power Engineer Caught Taking Bribe for Tubewell Connection
Budaun (RNI) The Anti-Corruption Team from Bareilly on Friday arrested a junior engineer of the power department while accepting a ₹20,000 bribe from a farmer in Budaun district. The engineer allegedly demanded the amount in exchange for providing an electricity connection for a tubewell.
The accused was caught red-handed at a bill counter in the Civil Lines area. Following the arrest, an FIR was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Civil Lines police station. Further legal proceedings are underway.
