SASARAM------------------------Will a 'Pink Bus' for women now run between Sasaram and Kochas, similar to services in select other cities of Bihar? Thousands of women commuting to the district headquarters stand to benefit. MLA Vashishtha Singh has raised the issue, prioritizing women's safety and convenience.
Vashishtha Singh, the MLA from the Kargahar Assembly constituency, has taken a significant initiative to ensure a safe and convenient public transport system for the women of Rohtas district. He has written to the Bihar Government's Transport Minister, requesting the launch of a special 'Pink Bus' service for women between Kochas and Sasaram, mirroring services available in other select cities across the state.
In his letter, MLA Vashishtha Singh noted that the distance between Kochas and Sasaram in Rohtas district is approximately 40 kilometers.
As Sasaram serves as both the district and sub-divisional headquarters, a large number of women from the Kochas and Kargahar blocks of the Kargahar Assembly constituency commute there daily for personal, educational, medical, and official purposes.
He stated that there has long been a felt need for safe and dedicated transport facilities for women under current circumstances. Consequently, operating a special Pink Bus service between Kochas and Sasaram would prove to be a significant step towards ensuring women's safety, convenience, and self-reliance.
The Kargahar MLA has urged the Transport Minister to consider the broader interests of women... Necessary actions should be taken and instructions issued for the operation of the 'Pink Bus' service on the Kochas-Sasaram route. This initiative is expected to provide safe and accessible travel facilities to thousands of women in the region.
