SASARAM-------------------------In view of the active monsoon in Bihar and the increasing likelihood of rain and lightning strikes across several districts, the state government's Disaster Management Department has urged citizens to exercise special caution. If the sky becomes heavily overcast, strong winds begin to blow, or the sound of thunder is heard, one should recognize these as signs of deteriorating weather and immediately seek a safe location. Individuals present in open fields, farmlands, on roads, or in other open areas need to be particularly vigilant. They are advised to take shelter in a sturdy, safe building or designated shelter as soon as possible. Furthermore, people have been instructed to stay away from electricity poles, transformers, iron poles, towers, and metal objects, as these locations can prove highly hazardous during lightning strikes.
Farmers, laborers, and rural residents have been urged to exercise particular care. Those working in fields are advised to stop work immediately and move to a safe location if the weather worsens. Additionally, people near ponds, rivers, canals, reservoirs, and other water bodies are advised to move away immediately, as these areas are considered extremely vulnerable during lightning strikes. People have been urged to keep a close watch on the warnings issued by the Meteorological Department.
