BHABHUA---------------------------A special medical and certificate camp for persons with disabilities was organized on Wednesday at the Community Health Centre premises in Kudra. A large number of differently-abled individuals from various villages in the area arrived at the camp accompanied by their family members; they submitted applications to obtain disability certificates and to avail themselves of benefits under various government schemes. "Approximately 200 applications were received during the day-long camp," stated Dr. Rita Kumari, the Medical Officer in-charge.
Dr. Rita Kumari explained that the primary objective of this initiative is to provide facilities for medical examinations, disability assessments, and the issuance of certificates to persons with disabilities—all at a single location. She noted that all applicants are undergoing medical examinations in accordance with prescribed standards, and the applications of eligible beneficiaries will be forwarded for further processing following the verification of necessary documents.
The team of doctors and healthcare workers present at the camp conducted health check-ups for the persons with disabilities and informed them about various government-run welfare schemes. According to officials, organizing such camps saves people from remote areas the trouble of making repeated trips to the district headquarters, ensuring they receive essential services locally.
Persons with disabilities and their family members who attended the camp appreciated the initiative, noting that it saved both time and money. Health department officials assured that all received applications would be processed promptly in accordance with the rules, ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their disability certificates and the benefits of other government schemes in a timely manner.
