ARA------------------------------Following the murder of Ram Kumar Singh—a retired Assistant Commissioner of Customs and the State President of the Kshatriya Mahasabha—serious allegations have been leveled against the police and the administration. The deceased’s wife, Sushila Devi, has accused the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Mufassil police station of negligence. Furthermore, she has accused the Sadar Circle Officer (Anchal Adhikari) of facilitating the creation of forged land documents. Furthermore, he has identified Chandan, Amarendra Pratap, and a media person as the conspirators behind the murder.

He stated that he owns 14 kathas of land near Singahi (Barhabatra) village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station. Recently, the accused demolished the boundary wall of this land and repeatedly threatened him, saying, "We will shoot you and your family; we won't let you live." A dispute over this land has been ongoing for about a year.

Meanwhile, the victim's wife has accused an individual named Chandan, a journalist, and others of murdering her husband over the land dispute. The victim's son, Rajesh Kumar Singh (alias Pappu Singh), has appealed to the Kshatriya community to stand in solidarity and provide support, demanding that his father's killers be sentenced to death by hanging.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Awadhesh Dixit has taken a firm stance regarding the high-profile murder case of Ram Kumar Singh. Following a recommendation from the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Mufassil police station has been suspended for dereliction of duty. It is reported that the family members had accused the SHO, Ram Kalyan Yadav, of assisting the perpetrators. The SP treated this allegation with great seriousness and ordered his immediate suspension.

The post-mortem of the late Ram Kumar Singh—a retired Assistant Commissioner of Customs—was conducted at Sadar Hospital. Under the direction of Civil Surgeon Dr. Shivendra Kumar Singh, a three-member medical team was constituted to perform the autopsy. During the procedure, three bullets were recovered from the victim's body. The medical team consisted of the on-duty physicians Dr. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Aman Singh, and Dr. Shailendra Kumar.

District Magistrate Manish Kumar Meena described the incident as tragic. He noted that the family has made certain demands, specifically calling for an impartial investigation and the immediate arrest of the culprits. All aspects of the case are being taken into account, and some arrests have already been made. Raids are being conducted to make further arrests in this case. It has been stated that if any government official is found to be involved, action will be taken against them. A request for the family's protection has also been received; this has been taken into cognizance, and appropriate measures are being initiated.

Superintendent of Police Awadhesh Dixit stated that action is being taken based on the formal complaint filed by the family of the deceased and members of the community. It was alleged that a complaint regarding this matter had previously been submitted to the Mufassil police station, yet the Station House Officer (SHO) failed to take any action.

In response to public demand, the Mufassil Station House Officer, Ram Kalyan Yadav, has been suspended with immediate effect. Following a meeting with the family this morning, one of the individuals accused by them has been detained and subsequently arrested.

Mr. Dixit mentioned that further action will be taken once a formal application is submitted by the family. Prima facie, the dispute appears to be rooted in a land-related conflict; three separate land disputes have been identified, and a detailed investigation into these matters is currently underway.
