PWD Employees to Protest Alleged Abuse and Harassment in Badaun

Badaun (RNI) : Employees of the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department have announced a one-day protest on January 19 at the Provincial Division office in Badaun, alleging abusive behaviour, mental harassment and use of casteist language by senior officials.

Unions claim that staff members were subjected to verbal abuse, including derogatory remarks, and that field workers were allegedly made to perform personal tasks at private residences. The Diploma Engineers’ Association has alleged that despite a meeting held on December 3, 2025, long-pending grievances remain unresolved.

According to union leaders, repeated appeals for corrective action were ignored, leading to growing resentment and disruption of work. Similar complaints have also been raised by work-charge employees. The protest will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a meeting in the evening to decide further action if demands are not addressed.
