ARA------------------------An FIR has been registered regarding an assault incident that took place between two parties outside the Civil Court in the Nawada police station area on Thursday. Based on the statement of Kanchan Devi—a resident of Sevanan village under the Karouna police station area in Jehanabad district—an FIR has been registered naming her husband Sumit Singh, along with Sujit Singh, Liya Devi, and Babita Devi, as accused.

In her complaint, she stated that her husband had filed for divorce in the Civil Court. She had arrived at the Ara Civil Court on the scheduled hearing date accompanied by her father and sister. Upon exiting the premises, they were assaulted, and her father sustained injuries from a sharp-edged weapon. Following the registration of the FIR, the police took prompt action and arrested her husband, Sumit Singh, and mother-in-law, Rita Devi.

Meanwhile, a counter-complaint was filed by the other party—Rita Devi (wife of the late Sant Singh and a resident of Paiga village under the Barhara police station area)—naming her daughter-in-law Kanchan Devi, her father Angad Singh, Babli Devi, and Ravi Singh, along with three or four unidentified individuals, as accused.

In her complaint, she stated that she had come to the Ara Civil Court to attend a hearing. As they stepped outside, they were subjected to verbal abuse and physically assaulted, along with her son. Following the registration of the FIR, the police took immediate action and arrested Kanchan Devi, her father Angad Singh, and her sister Babita Devi.

It is worth noting that a physical altercation took place between the two parties outside the Civil Court on Thursday afternoon, resulting in injuries to two individuals from each side.
