ARA----------------------------In response to a state-wide call by the CPI(ML), Khetigramin Mazdoor Sabha (Khegramas), AIPWA, and Insaaf Manch, a protest march was held in Ara—starting from the CPI(ML) district office at Shritola and concluding with a public meeting at the bus stand—where slogans were raised against the Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, and police oppression.

Addressing the gathering, CPI(ML) District Secretary Abhyuday stated that atrocities by both the police and criminals have escalated under the BJP-led government.

In the Manjhi Toli of Behrawa village, located in the Punpun block of Patna, the police unleashed terror under the pretext of enforcing the liquor ban.

As a result, 39 individuals—including 32 women and four infants—were imprisoned.

Meanwhile, fearing arrest, two young men, Akash Manjhi and Ramu Manjhi, drowned in the Punpun River.

During this raid, women and young girls were subjected to physical assault—a barbaric and heinous act.

Addressing the meeting, CPI(ML) Central Committee member Raju Yadav highlighted another incident: in the neighboring panchayat of Nawada Ghat Chowk, the police severely beat Suresh Mahto (from the Mallah community) along with his wife and daughters. Distraught by this, their son, Ravi Kumar, died by suicide (hanging)—an extreme manifestation of police repression and brutality.

During the burning of an effigy, the protesters demanded an investigation into these barbaric incidents by a committee, the suspension of the Pipra Station House Officer (SHO), the immediate release of all those arrested, and compensation of ten lakh rupees for the families of the deceased. This protest march saw the participation of several individuals, including State Committee members Vijay Ojha, Qyamuddin Ansari, and Sangeeta Singh; District Office Secretary Dilraj Pritam; AIPWA City Secretary Shobha Mandal; AILAJ leader Amit Kumar Bunty; AIPWA leader Kalawati Devi; labor leader Balmukund Chaudhary; Insaf Manch District Secretary Ajay Gandhi; AISA District Co-Secretary Sahil Arora; as well as Santvilas Ram, Rajendra Yadav, Raju Prasad, Ritesh Kumar, Surendra Paswan, and Pramod Rajak.

The proceedings were conducted by CPI(ML) City Secretary Sudhir Kumar.

In addition to Ara city, protest marches were also held in various blocks, including Tarari, Sahar, Sandesh, Agiaon, Koilwar, Piro, Jagdishpur, and Garhani.
