ARA--------------------------The high-profile Bharat Tiwari encounter case in Shahpur block of Bhojpur district has gained fresh momentum with a detailed on-site investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

On Wednesday, a CID team led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) arrived at Bharat Tiwari’s ancestral village, Bilauti. The team spent nearly seven hours in the village conducting a thorough inquiry into various aspects of the incident.

During the visit, investigators took Bharat Tiwari’s brother, Chandan Tiwari, to the encounter site. Chandan provided an eyewitness account of the events and walked the team through the sequence of what happened. The officers also questioned local villagers from Bilauti Tand who claimed to have witnessed the encounter. They gathered details about the circumstances at the time, the activities at the scene, and other relevant facts.

The team further recorded statements from Bharat Tiwari’s family members, including his mother Asha Devi, father Kashinath Tiwari, sister-in-law Suman Devi, and several other relatives. In total, the officers spoke to around 11 people, including family members and displaced persons connected to the case. The entire process at the site, including the recreation of the events and statements, was video-recorded and taken back to Patna for further examination.

Chandan Tiwari later stated that he had explained every detail of the encounter to the CID team, describing it as a conspiratorial killing. He also provided the investigators with all Facebook Live videos recorded by his brother Bharat Tiwari, along with copies of complaints filed against the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).

Family members expressed frustration that more than four months have passed since the incident, yet only one accused has been arrested so far, and the case had appeared to stagnate. They hope the renewed CID probe will uncover the full truth and deliver justice.

The DSP leading the investigation confirmed that the inquiry is ongoing. Statements from family members, witnesses present at the scene, and other related persons have been recorded. The site inspection and recreation have been completed, and the collected evidence and testimonies are now under detailed examination.

The CID team indicated that it plans to question six to seven more individuals in the coming days as the investigation continues.
