ARA------------------------It is suggested that the Government of Bihar formulate a special water management plan to provide a permanent solution to the dual problems of floods and droughts in Bhojpur district. When the Ganges River floods, the Ara Rural, Barhara, and Shahpur blocks are the most severely affected, while the southern parts of the district continue to face persistent water scarcity.
The government should make arrangements to channel the excess water from the northern region of Bhojpur to the southern region through canals, pipelines, or drainage projects. On one hand, this would aid in flood control; on the other, it would resolve the issues of irrigation and water scarcity in the southern areas.
Furthermore, efforts should be directed toward strengthening embankments, constructing water storage facilities, and developing modern drainage systems, so that Bhojpur district may find lasting relief from the recurring annual problems of floods and droughts.
