Traffic Police Return Lost Bag Containing Cash and Jewellery Worth Over Rs 61,000 in Badaun
CCTV Footage and E-Challan App Help Badaun Traffic Police Trace Missing Bag
RNI Badaun : The traffic police in Badaun recovered and returned a lost bag containing Rs 61,300 in cash, a gold ring, mobile phone, wristwatch and other valuables to its owner with the help of CCTV surveillance and the e-challan application.
Omkar, a resident of Soi village under Kunwargaon police station limits, approached the traffic office after he accidentally left his bag in an auto-rickshaw near Indira Chowk on May 15. Acting on the complaint, TSI Lalit Kumar informed Circle Officer Traffic Rajneesh Upadhyay, following which CCTV footage from various intersections was examined.
After identifying the auto-rickshaw number, police traced the driver through the e-challan app. The driver, Manoj Kumar, confirmed that he had found the bag in his vehicle and safely kept it.
The bag, along with all valuables, was returned to Omkar after verification at the traffic office. Omkar and his wife Shakuntala Devi expressed gratitude to the traffic police and praised the honesty of the auto driver.
