BUXAR----------------------------Monday marked a historic and momentous occasion for the world of Bhojpuri literature at the Department of Bhojpuri, Veer Kunwar Singh University, Ara, as the viva voce examination for research scholar Rajesh Kumar Aditya’s Ph.D. thesis—titled "The Creative Universe of Dr. Arun Mohan Bharavi"—was successfully concluded. This research is regarded as a significant academic endeavor focused on the comprehensive literary contributions of the renowned Bhojpuri litterateur, Dr. Arun Mohan Bharavi.
The occasion was graced with special dignity by the presence of the Head of the Bhojpuri Department, Prof. Diwakar Pandey; the Research Supervisor, Dr. Usha Rani; Prof. Siddharth Shankar; and Dr. Arun Mohan Bharavi himself. The event also saw the participation of various other figures, including fiction writer Krishna Kumar, Prof. Neeraj Singh, Dr. Kaushalya Sharma, and numerous research scholars from the department.
In his report, the research examiner, Prof. Jang Bahadur Pandey, stated that this thesis is an original, authentic, and profound academic work based on the literary dedication of Dr. Bharavi—a towering figure in Bhojpuri fiction literature. He lauded the analysis presented by the scholar, describing it as incisive, comprehensive, and thoroughly research-oriented.
The thesis is structured into seven well-organized chapters. It presents an in-depth analysis of Dr. Bharavi’s personality and oeuvre, his fiction, his editorial artistry, his miscellaneous writings, and his distinct literary characteristics. The final chapter systematically outlines the research findings. Furthermore, the authenticity of the research has been further bolstered by the inclusion of interviews with various litterateurs in the appendix.
According to scholars within the Bhojpuri Department, this research—focused on the entire body of Dr. Arun Mohan Bharavi’s work—is poised to prove a significant and original contribution to the field of Bhojpuri literary studies. Conducted during the month of *Jyeshtha*, this viva voce examination is being hailed as a special milestone for both the research scholar, Rajesh Kumar Aditya, and Dr. Bharavi. On this achievement, Dr. Vairagi Prabhash Chaturvedi (General Secretary of the Bhojpuri Sahitya Mandal), Amarendra Dubey (Secretary), and Kaushal Sharma (Publicity Secretary)—along with numerous litterateurs and representatives of social organizations—extended their congratulations and commendations to the Bhojpuri Department.
