BHABHUA-----------------------------Students in Bihar have expressed outrage over the poor examination results for B.Sc. Nursing and B.Pharma courses. Students from Raj Nursing Institute (Odar), located in the Sonhan police station area of Kaimur district, staged a massive protest at the institute's gate and blocked the Bhabhua-Kudra road. Traffic on the road was completely disrupted due to the demonstration. Carrying banners and posters, the students raised slogans against the college management and the university's functioning.
The protesting students (including Sonam Kumari, Saurabh Raj, and Pancham Kumar) stated that they attended classes regularly and were well-prepared for the exams. Despite this, the results were extremely disappointing. The students alleged that at the time of admission, the college administration had promised superior teaching facilities, qualified teachers, and good results. However, the reality is that the college lacks subject-specific teachers and does not conduct regular classes; the administration is solely focused on collecting fees. The students warned that if their demands are not met soon, they will launch a larger agitation.
Santosh Verma, Director of Raj Nursing College, dismissed the students' allegations as baseless. He stated that the results for the 2024 batch of B.Sc. Nursing and B.Pharma across Bihar have been very poor, with only 20 percent of students passing. The Director directly blamed the Bihar Nursing University's system and negligence in the answer-sheet evaluation process for this outcome. He remarked that the students' future is at stake due to the university's flawed system. He appealed to the students to maintain calm and assured them that their demands would be conveyed to the university so that the answer sheets could be re-evaluated and the results improved.
This entire matter raises serious questions about Bihar's education system and the university's evaluation process. It is a matter of concern when only 20 out of 100 students pass. To put a stop to this jeopardizing of the students' future, it is essential that the written examination answer sheets undergo an impartial re-evaluation.
