ARA-----------------------------In Indian culture, the festival of Raksha Bandhan is regarded as a symbol of the affection and unbreakable bond shared between brothers and sisters. On Friday, an atmosphere of immense enthusiasm and joy prevailed throughout the region. Festive fervor was visible everywhere from the early morning hours; sisters visited temples to offer prayers with traditional rituals, seeking God's blessings for their brothers' longevity, health, and prosperity.
As the auspicious time arrived, sisters applied *tilak* on their brothers' foreheads, performed *aarti*, and tied the *Raksha Sutra*—or *Rakhi*—around their wrists. Through this ritual, sisters expressed their affection for their brothers. In return, brothers presented gifts and cash to their sisters, reaffirming their love and their pledge to protect them. This reunion of siblings created a joyful atmosphere in homes.
Akshara Kumari and Aditi Kumari, residents of Ward No. 1 in Bihiya town, tied *Rakhis* on the wrist of their brother, Ansh Kumar. Both sisters prayed for their brother's bright future and long life. Meanwhile, Ansh Kumar shared in the joy of the festival by giving gifts to his sisters.
The festive spirit was also clearly evident in the markets. Bihiya market bustled with activity from the morning itself. Large crowds gathered at shops selling *Rakhis*, sweets, and gifts. Sisters selected *Rakhis* of their choice, while brothers purchased special gifts and delicious sweets for their sisters. A steady stream of customers at sweet shops brought great enthusiasm among the traders as well.
Special preparations for the festival had also been made within households. The aroma of delicious dishes and the laughter of family members made the celebration even more special. The entire day was dedicated to the mutual love, respect, and sense of belonging shared between siblings. Thus, the festival of Raksha Bandhan concluded in an atmosphere of peace and joy, upholding its traditional dignity and once again strengthening the bonds of family.
