ARA--------------------------Dhananjay Kumar Singh, the District Council Member (Zila Parishad Sadasya) for Ara Sadar East-25, has raised serious questions regarding the functioning of the Ara Sadar Circle Office, describing the situation as deplorable. He alleged that the mobile numbers publicly listed for several Circle Office employees and *Amins* (land surveyors) remain switched off; instead, they use private numbers that are allegedly accessible only to a select few individuals and middlemen.

The District Council Member stated that this situation makes it extremely difficult for both ordinary citizens and public representatives to establish contact or obtain necessary information regarding development projects, public grievances, or natural disasters. He questioned whether public representatives, too, would be forced to rely on middlemen to convey their concerns if officials and staff remain inaccessible to the general public.

He asserted that there is an urgent need to curb arbitrary practices and the influence of middlemen at the Circle Office. Dhananjay Kumar Singh urged all public representatives of the Ara block to rise above political differences, convene a joint meeting on this issue, and demand that the District Magistrate intervene to improve the system.

He warned that if the situation does not improve in a timely manner, a phased agitation would be launched. Calling for the formulation of a broad-based public movement, he pledged his full support and cooperation in any struggle aimed at resolving public grievances and ensuring transparency in government operations.

However, no official response regarding these allegations had been received from the Circle Office at the time of writing this report.
