YOUNG ARTISTS OF THE BIDESIA PLAY TAKE A PLEDGE

ARA----------------------------A feast of curd and flattened rice was organized today for the artists who performed the Bidesia play at the Bhikhari Thakur Cultural Stage located at the local Patel bus stand complex.  Certificates were also distributed to several rural artists and other artists who were not present earlier. The program was presided over by Dr. Jaya Jain and conducted by journalist Narendra Singh.

The young artists who received the certificates pledged that they would stage other plays by Bhikhari Thakur and would transform traditional songs and other disappearing cultural forms into plays to reach the masses.

The young artists interacted with elderly rural artists and gathered information about Jatsar, Gond dance, Rah Baba's worship, Pawariya dance, etc. The elderly rural artists also clearly told the young artists that these things are disappearing in the modern era, and therefore, they should come forward to preserve them.

Under the banner of the Bhikhari Thakur Social Research Institute, certificates were given to a dozen young artists. Those present on this occasion included young artists Shagun Srivastava, Pooja Raj, Kunal Kumar, Sundar Raj, Shalini Srivastava, Dr. Anil Singh, Sadhana Srivastava, Dheeraj Kumar, etc. From the research institute, Savarna Kranti Sena National President Poonam Singh, poet Janmejay Ojha, Pushpendra Narayan Singh, senior theater artist Krishnendu, Sanjay Pal, Swami Vikramaditya, Vijay Bahadur Singh, and others were prominently present.
