ARA----------------------------Taking serious note of the threat received via email by the court administration in some districts of Bihar to blow up court premises, Vidya Niwas Singh alias Deepak Singh, former General Secretary of the District Bar Association (Arrah), Bhojpur, has said that he will send an application regarding the security of the Arrah Civil Court to the Principal District and Sessions Judge Purushottam Mishra through social media. Expressing concern over the threat to blow up the Patna, Gaya, and Kishanganj court premises with RDX, the former General Secretary questioned the current security arrangements at the Arrah Civil Court and appealed to the District Judge to formalize and further strengthen the security measures.
In his application, Vidya Niwas Singh drew the District Judge's attention to the two bomb incidents that occurred earlier in the Arrah Civil Court and questioned the current state of the security arrangements that were increased after those incidents, expressing concern about the security of the premises and all the advocates. In his application, he criticized the security arrangements currently being implemented by the district administration, calling them merely a formality. He wrote that the police force deployed by the district administration for security is not found to be taking the security measures seriously, which is a matter of great concern. In his application to the District Judge, the former General Secretary criticized the security arrangements of the district administration and expressed serious anger and concern over the fact that the metal detectors installed at the gate of the premises are currently out of order and that people are being checked only by hand instead of using hand-held metal detectors. Referring to the incidents of criminals entering the court premises disguised as lawyers and committing criminal acts, he also expressed his views on implementing a system where all advocates and the general public are allowed entry into the court premises only after verifying their identity cards to ensure robust security arrangements for the advocates and the court premises. Vidya Niwas Singh, also known as Deepak Singh, while discussing his application, stated emphatically that there should be no need to wait for a threat to ensure the security of any court or its lawyers. The court premises are a place where the security of judges, thousands of lawyers, and millions of daily visitors should not be compromised in any way, and security protocols should be strictly and consistently followed. This would ensure a robust and efficient security system, preventing any threatening emails from causing distress to lawyers, judges, or the general public.
