SASARAM-----------------------In a decisive move against corruption, the Bihar government’s Revenue and Land Reforms Department sacked Sasaram Sadar Circle Officer (CO) Sudhir Kumar Omkara with immediate effect, transferring him to Patna headquarters as part of its zero-tolerance stance. The action follows a probe into a recent data entry operator bribery scandal. A report by Vigilance Bureau DSP Sujit Sagar revealed that the corruption ring extends beyond a single operator, implicating several revenue staff and senior officials. Further investigations are underway, with more officials likely to face action. The department has initiated the process to appoint a new CO. Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Sanjay Sarawagi, reacting to the case, stated, “Under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the government is committed to administrative transparency and accountability. No one guilty, regardless of rank, will be spared.” Sasaram Circle Office has long faced corruption allegations, but this Vigilance Department operation, backed by technical evidence, marks a significant milestone. Local sources suggest more names may surface soon, stirring unrest in the district.
