ARA----------------------------The Barhara-Khwaspur pontoon bridge over the Ganges, connecting Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, has long served as a lifeline for lakhs of people in both states. This bridge facilitates travel, trade, and access to education and healthcare services between the Barhara region of Bhojpur district and the bordering areas of Uttar Pradesh. However, the pontoon bridge has to be dismantled every year during the flood and monsoon seasons, forcing people to travel long distances and face significant hardships.

Local residents have long been demanding the construction of a permanent bridge at this location. They believe that a permanent bridge would strengthen connectivity between Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, boost trade, make it easier for farmers to transport their produce to markets, and provide relief to students and patients regarding travel.

At a time when modern bridges and roads are being constructed across various parts of the country, the demand for the Barhara-Khwaspur Ganges bridge has become even more relevant. It would not merely be a bridge but a gateway to the socio-economic development of both states.

All eyes in the region are now fixed on the government. The primary question on people's minds is when the plan for a permanent bridge over the Ganges between Barhara and Khwaspur will be approved and when construction will begin. The public hopes that the government will seriously consider this long-standing demand and take positive steps in this direction soon.
