ARA--------------------------Bhojpur district witnessed the havoc of lightning strikes during rainfall on Monday. Lightning strikes in different police station areas of the district resulted in two deaths, while two members of the same family sustained severe burns. The injured are undergoing treatment at Ara Sadar Hospital.
The first incident occurred in Asudhan Mathiya village under the Varna Panchayat in the Aayar police station area. Bhikhari Yadav, the Ward Member of Ward No. 11, died after being struck by lightning there. In the same incident, Lalan Yadav and his wife, Shiv Kumari, were critically injured. Both have been admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital, where they are receiving treatment under medical supervision.
The second incident took place in Kharati village under the Charpokhari police station area, where a young man died after being struck by lightning. A pall of gloom has descended on the village following the incident, and the family members are inconsolable.
Amidst continuous rainfall and inclement weather, the district administration has urged people to remain vigilant and avoid taking shelter in open areas, fields, or under trees during bad weather.
