ARA-------------------------Nowadays, rumors spread across social media like wildfire, creating an atmosphere of confusion and mistrust in society. While information is available at the click of a finger, the lack of discernment has reached a dangerously high level. "Do not believe hearsay"—this is not merely a saying; it is a crucial necessity in today's times.

Whenever a dispute or issue arises, we often pick a 'side.' However, the truth is divided into three parts:

•           Your side: The lens through which you view the world.

•           Their side: The truth as presented by the other person from their perspective.

•           The actual truth: That which often gets lost somewhere between the two.

The problem is that we jump to conclusions the moment we choose our 'side.' We forget that every individual wants to be the hero of their own story, and thus, they often twist or distort the truth.

We have become accustomed to hitting the 'forward' button without a second thought. Have we ever considered that a single piece of misinformation can ruin a home or shatter someone's reputation? When we propagate something without verification, we become complicit in that lie.

Stay calm: What is the rush to react? Pause, reflect, and then speak.

To discover the truth, one must remain neutral. If you remain confined by your own preconceived notions, you will never see the truth. Remember, a lie may be loud, but the truth holds the real power. The next time someone says to you, "Hey, did you hear...?", instead of immediately accepting it as fact, pause for a moment and consider whether the information holds up against the test of truth.

While the person spreading a rumor is certainly at fault, the one who believes it without a second thought is an even greater fool. Keep your thinking clear and always filter what you hear through the sieve of critical judgment.
