ARA--------------------------A dispute stemming from a road accident in Nagari village, located within the Charpokhari police station area of the district, turned violent. The ensuing exchange of gunfire left two individuals critically injured; they have been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the situation in the village had remained tense ever since a woman died in a road accident there. On Monday morning, while locals and relatives of the victim were discussing the matter, the dispute suddenly escalated into violence. Armed individuals abruptly opened fire on the crowd, creating an atmosphere of chaos and panic.
In this shooting incident, Manoj Sharma—the husband of the village Sarpanch—and his associate, Gorakh Paswan, sustained gunshot wounds. With the assistance of locals, both critically injured men were immediately rushed to the Sadar Hospital in Arrah, where they are currently undergoing treatment under medical supervision. The condition of both individuals remains critical.
Upon receiving news of the incident, a police force led by Piro SDPO K.K. Singh—comprising teams from several police stations—arrived at the scene and took charge of the situation. To bring the situation under control, the administration has effectively turned the entire village into a fortified zone, deploying a heavy police contingent. Raids are currently being conducted at suspected hideouts in an effort to apprehend the accused.
