BHABHUA----------------------Panic gripped the Kudra police station area of the district on Monday morning when a school vehicle, en route to pick up children, suddenly went out of control and overturned. The incident occurred near Nasej village. Fortunately, only one child was present in the vehicle at the time, and he is reported to be completely safe.

According to reports, the vehicle—a Force Motors van (Registration No. BR 45 P 4285) operated by Shantikunj Public School, located near Amirtha village along National Highway 19—was heading toward Nasej village to pick up students, just as it did every day. During the journey, the driver reportedly dozed off, causing the vehicle to lose its balance and overturn into a field situated along the roadside. Following the incident, a crowd of locals gathered at the scene and immediately initiated rescue operations.

As soon as the vehicle overturned, people rushed to the spot and safely extracted the child who was trapped inside. There have been no reports of injuries sustained by anyone in the accident, allowing the community to breathe a sigh of relief.

Upon learning of the incident, locals and parents also arrived at the scene. They demanded that the school administration ensure regular medical checks for drivers and strict adherence to safety standards.

It is reported that at the time of the accident, most of the children had not yet boarded the vehicle. Had the vehicle been filled with students, the incident could have resulted in a major tragedy.

Currently, the incident remains a topic of intense discussion within the region. Locals have urged the administration to conduct inspections regarding the roadworthiness of school vehicles and the alertness of their drivers to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
