250 LADY CONSTABLES BRIEFED ON THE POSH ACT

SASARAM-------------------------A one-day workshop was organized on Friday at the Bihar Special Armed Police (Women) Battalion in Beda, Sasaram, with the aim of raising awareness about the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act).

The workshop was jointly inaugurated by Ms. Swati, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bihar Special Armed Police (Women) Battalion, Sasaram, and Md. Shamim Ansari, District Project Manager, Women and Child Development Corporation. During the workshop, female police officers and personnel were informed about their rights under the POSH Act, the procedure for filing complaints, the roles of Internal and Local Complaints Committees, and the process for the impartial and confidential resolution of complaints. Emphasis was also placed on ensuring a safe, respectful, and fear-free environment for women at the workplace. Approximately 250 police officers and personnel participated in the event.
