PATNA--------------------------Starting next year, the Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan will present an annual memorial award to a talented female writer for her contributions to literature, in memory of its late Vice-President, Dr. Kalyani Kusum Singh. This announcement was made by the Sammelan’s President, Dr. Anil Sulabh, during a tribute meeting held on Saturday at the ARL Auditorium in Patel Nagar.

In his tribute, Dr. Sulabh remarked that Dr. Kalyani was a profound writer whose significant literary body of work would continue to benefit future generations. Her writings reflect not only a focus on women’s discourse but also a deep-seated consciousness of folk culture and a tender sensitivity toward society. Within the Sammelan, she was highly respected as an adept mentor. Her passing represents a major loss for both the Sahitya Sammelan and the literary world at large.

Those who paid their respects included Kumar Anupam, Er. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Archana Tripathi, Dr. Manoj Govardhanpuri, and several other literary figures and intellectuals. Also present were the late Dr. Kalyani’s family members: her sons Shashi Ranjan Kumar, Shivendra Kumar, and Chintu Manish; her daughter Nirupama Solanki; her daughters-in-law Ranjana Singh, Anuradha Singh, and Bharti Singh; her son-in-law Sanjay Solanki; her grandsons Adarsh, Utkarsh, Apurva, and Vagish; her granddaughters Harsh and Pragya; her grandson (daughter’s son) Tejas; and the poet Indu Bhushan Sahay.
