PATNA-----------------------Following his six-year expulsion from the JDU, Mokama MLA Anant Singh has launched a sharp attack on the party leadership. He stated that he has no regrets about being removed from the party. Anant Singh claimed that the JDU’s future is over and that the party will struggle to even win 10 seats in the future.
Anant Singh remarked that the JDU was Nitish Kumar’s party, but since Nitish Kumar is no longer active, there is effectively nothing left of the party. He said, “The public is the ultimate master. The action taken against me is fine; I have no issues with it. The party belonged to Nitish Kumar. Now that he is not there, who is left in the party?”
Questioning the party leadership, the Mokama MLA asked what contributions the leaders who expelled him had actually made to the JDU. He also noted that he had not sought a ticket from the JDU; rather, the party had invited him and offered him the ticket.
Anant Singh also hinted at forming his own party in the future, stating, “I will form my own party.” Regarding the JDU’s future, he reiterated that the party’s existence has effectively come to an end and that it would struggle to secure even 10 seats.
However, despite his scathing attack on the JDU, Anant Singh adopted a relatively softer stance toward Nitish Kumar. He mentioned that there is no rift between him and Nitish Kumar, adding that Nitish Kumar has been unwell. “There is no distance between me and Nitish Kumar; he remains unwell,” Anant Singh said.
Addressing the expulsion, JDU leader Rajiv Ranjan defended the party’s decision, asserting that no one can be above party discipline. The party had reviewed Anant Singh’s activities during the Legislative Council elections and found his conduct to be contrary to the party’s established values. On this basis, a recommendation was made to revoke his membership under the Tenth Schedule, and he was expelled from the party for six years.
