BUXAR----------------------------Police have arrested two accused individuals in connection with the murder of Mulayam Singh Yadav, which took place on the Samhar-Mahraura road within the Dumraon police station limits.
The pistol used in the crime was also recovered based on information provided by the arrested accused. Both accused are residents of the deceased's village, Samhar. Dumraon's in-charge DSP, Sameer Kumar Singh, announced the arrests during a press conference on Tuesday.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sonam Kumar (alias Mallu), son of Dharmendra Yadav, and Pratik Yadav (alias Pintu), son of the late Rajendra Singh; both are residents of Samhar village.
Preliminary police investigations suggest that alleged indecent behavior towards a woman was the motive behind the murder. The police are working to determine how the dispute escalated and how the murder was plotted. However, the police have clarified that the investigation into all aspects of the case is ongoing.
Following the murder, the deceased's father, Uday Narayan Singh (alias Vakil Yadav), had alleged that the killing stemmed from a long-standing dispute over approximately 1.75 *bighas* of ancestral land. However, according to the in-charge DSP, the allegations regarding the land dispute mentioned in the FIR have not yet been substantiated. The police are conducting further investigations to ascertain the actual motive behind the murder.
