Three Nepali Nationals Killed, Six Injured in Ganga Expressway Accident
Budaun: Three Nepali nationals were killed and six others injured after an Ertiga taxi overturned while the driver tried to avoid a dog on the Ganga Expressway in Budaun early Wednesday.
The accident occurred between 3 am and 3:45 am near Channel No. 175, close to Bankota village, on the Kunwargaon-Wazirganj police station boundary. The taxi (CH02AA4318) was travelling from the Rupaidiha border to Chandigarh when the driver swerved to avoid a dog, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.
Two deceased were identified as Deepna Khatri (32) and Vipna Sunamgar (32), residents of Nepal's Dang district. An unidentified 22-year-old passenger died during treatment at Budaun district hospital.
Six others, including driver Deepak Oli and two children aged two and 10, were injured and admitted to the district hospital. Police reached the spot, conducted rescue operations and sent the bodies for post-mortem. The damaged vehicle was removed with a crane. Further investigation is underway.
