PATNA-----------------------------Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar stated that the state government is serious about resolving the issues faced by PhD students. He mentioned that a portal has been launched to address students' grievances, an initiative spearheaded by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. He also praised the initiative of Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the three new criminal laws, describing them as the need of the hour.
Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar has stated that the state government is working with utmost seriousness to address the problems faced by PhD students. He noted that a portal has been launched—at the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary—to resolve students' grievances, and the government is positively considering every legitimate demand. Meanwhile, he commended Union Home Minister Amit Shah's initiative to introduce three new criminal laws in the country, terming them essential for the current times.
Speaking to reporters after attending the 'Krishi Jan Kalyan Samvad' (Agriculture Public Welfare Dialogue) program held in Gaya on Saturday, Dr. Prem Kumar responded to the protests and demands of PhD students. He stated that the state government is continuously striving to listen to the students' issues and resolve them.
He explained that a portal for student-related matters has been launched under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, enabling students' complaints and issues to reach the government. These matters are being reviewed regularly, and the government is taking action on demands that are practical and feasible.
Dr. Prem Kumar remarked that Bihar is emerging as a state where the government not only listens to students' problems but also takes concrete steps toward resolving them. He assured that the government would seriously consider all aspects of the issues over which the students are protesting and would find appropriate solutions.
Responding to a question about the three new criminal laws implemented in the country, the Assembly Speaker described the move as a positive and historic initiative. He noted that even decades after independence, many laws dating back to British rule remained in place; these are now being replaced by new laws aligned with contemporary needs.
