PATNA--------------------------In support of students who have been on an indefinite hunger strike at Gardanibagh, Patna, for 20 days, AISA organized a protest march in Bhojpur. The organization targeted the government over issues related to education, employment, and recruitment by burning the effigy of Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari in Ara.
On Sunday, the student organization AISA staged a protest in Bhojpur to support the demands of students who have been on an indefinite hunger strike at Gardanibagh, Patna, for the past 20 days. Activists held a protest march addressing issues of education and employment and burned the effigy of Bihar's Education Minister, Mithilesh Tiwari, at the Ara bus stand.
The protest march was organized by AISA, starting from the CPI(ML) district office at Shritola. It was led by AISA Bhojpur District Joint Secretary Raushan Kushwaha, who criticized the government regarding Bihar's education system, teacher recruitment, and competitive examinations. AISA leaders alleged that several issues concerning education and employment have remained unresolved for a long time, yet the government has taken no serious initiative to address the students' demands.
The organization raised issues such as UGC norms in assistant professor recruitment, alleged irregularities in BPSC exams, the notification for TRE-4, and pending Bihar SSC examinations.
AISA Bihar Vice President Neetu Kumari stated that students have been on a hunger strike at Gardanibagh, Patna, for 20 consecutive days. She alleged that although ministers' residences are located just a short distance from the protest site, no government representative has visited the students so far. She urged the government to hold immediate talks regarding the demands of the protesting students.
Varsha, an AISA leader from Jain College, also criticized the government and the Education Minister. She stated that instead of ignoring the students' demands, the government should engage in dialogue with them. AISA leaders warned that the agitation would be intensified if a decision regarding the students' demands is not taken soon. Dozens of student activists, including Bhojpur District Secretary Jayashankar Prasad, District President Vikas Kumar, Maharaja College Secretary Rajesh Kumar, and State Vice President Neetu Kumari, were present at the protest march and effigy-burning event. AISA has clarified that its agitation regarding issues concerning student education, employment, and recruitment will continue.
