ARA-------------------------A tragic incident involving a love affair has come to light in Asawan Tola village, under the jurisdiction of the Jagdishpur police station in Bihar's Bhojpur district. An 18-year-old woman from the village died after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance. The incident has become a topic of discussion in the area, while her family is devastated with grief. The police have taken possession of the body, sent it to Ara Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The deceased has been identified as Khushbu Kumari, the 18-year-old daughter of Ramashankar God, a resident of Asawan Tola village. According to her family, Khushbu had been in a relationship with a local youth named Ankit Singh for about a year. Disputes and discussions regarding this relationship had previously arisen between the two families on several occasions.

The deceased's father, Ramashankar God, stated that his daughter had first left home with the young man on May 10.

A village *panchayat* (council) was convened upon her return about eight days later. During the meeting, she expressed a desire to live with her family; the matter was subsequently resolved, and the family attempted to resume a normal life.

The family alleges that on June 4, Khushbu left home with the young man once again. Three days later, she reached the Bihiya police station, from where the police informed her family. Upon receiving the news, her father went to the Bihiya police station on June 8 and brought her back home.

It is reported that two days after returning home, the young woman's health suddenly deteriorated on Tuesday morning. Her family claims she had consumed a poisonous substance. She was hurriedly admitted to a private hospital in Jagdishpur, where she was brought home after receiving first aid. However, her condition worsened shortly thereafter, and she passed away.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Police officials state that the actual cause of death will only be clearly established once the post-mortem report is received. Meanwhile, all aspects of the case are being investigated.

A pall of gloom has descended on the village following the incident. The police are investigating the matter while considering factors such as a romantic relationship, family circumstances, and other potential causes.
