ARA--------------------------The reality of healthcare facilities at the Model Sadar Hospital in Arrah, Bhojpur district, has come to light. X-ray services at the hospital have been completely shut down since June 4, causing immense difficulty for patients. Due to the suspension of services, patients are compelled to visit private centers for their tests, resulting in an additional financial burden—a situation that is particularly difficult for impoverished patients.

The unavailability of X-ray facilities at the hospital is delaying treatment. Patients are spending more money on external tests, and many lack confidence in the reports provided by private centers.

The government had installed an X-ray unit at the hospital to ensure patients could access all facilities within the same premises; however, the service suspension means they are unable to benefit from it. Despite the service being stalled for nearly nine days, the hospital management has failed to find a concrete solution, leading to growing public resentment.

Anikra Foundation (Patliputra Colony, Patna), the agency operating the X-ray unit, has informed the hospital administration that services are disrupted due to a technical fault. According to the agency, efforts are underway to rectify the issue with the help of a technical assistant, and services will be restored soon.

Locals allege that the X-ray service is being deliberately kept inactive to benefit private centers outside the hospital. They argue that the excessive time taken to fix a minor technical glitch indicates negligence and have demanded the immediate restoration of services.
